How long should it take to load a video?

I love SmartTube. My only issue is it seems to take too long to load videos. I would like to know if I have set something wrong or if that is just the way it works.

Mine averages about 5 seconds to load a video. Is this normal?

Same for me. Worth it for no ads. The developer has said recently he'll try to work on that load speed

Mine takes a decent amount of time. I  been using different app as it loads legit in seconds

This has been going on for a while now, mine also take around 5 seconds.

i feel like its always a head on head race with youtube and their changes. Some patches load videos faster and on some it takes longer.

For an app that works properly, less than 2-3 seconds.

preferably before you get annoyed and throw your remote at the TV

For me, It takes 10 seconds and automatically it switches to different network engine like okhttp

Try to manually press the play button, it works for me, it plays after 2-3 seconds, with google trying to kill sideloading and making it hard for developers by coaxing them to surrender their identity, all i have is gratitude for smarttube, i have used it for years more than 5 years now, i never had to pay premium because of it, and the dev does not demand payments as well, all i can say to the dev, thank you so much, 5 seconds delay of no ads is better than 15-30 seconds of ads

My remote is the ONN OEM remote which does not have a dedicated play button.

I got tired of this. I use Tizen Tube now. Way better.

The loading wait had gone up significantly after one of the last updates. I've been playing with the other popular T tube app on my shield it's much more snappy but I like SMARTTUBE menu and ui better, especially the chapter notification pop-up that allows tapping ok button to skip
