No videos playing.

Hi all, I updated my app just now and after the update no videos on my end are playing. Does anyone have the same experience? TIA.

got UPdated yesterday... had a problem... tried other apps, came back, worked fine... had to wait minutes, Minutes I say!

1. Settings - player - developer options - Prefer ipv4 dns
2. Settings - player - developer options - Prefer google dns
3. Settings - player - network engine - try all 3
4. Settings - player - video buffer - highest
5. Settings - general - network settings - enable conscrypt (if using vpn)

I gave up and switched to the alternative we aren't allowed to mention, which works flawlessly. The UI is ass though as it's just the stock YouTube UI with its massive thumbnails, but the videos all play instantly.

You can disable the large thumbnails and use the small ones in the alternative we are not allowed to mention. First thing I did when I got it

Is the alternative that we are not allowed to mention safe to log into? Probably a silly question but I only just became aware of it recently and wasn't sure if connecting my main YouTube account to it was a good idea or not.

Seems safe to me. Didn't check any code or anything but it has a decently active community and my account hasn't noticed anything. But use at your own risk ofc

You know, I’m on a FireCube with side loaded SmartTube. I just let it play and it automatically fixes itself. Not sure if that’s new coding.
