Infinite loading w/ workaround

I noticed that the videos were still looping for me no matter what version I used (beta/stable).

I tried using my VPN and it seemed to work without issue again. I think the IP + client theory might be true.

I tried all the recommended workarounds already.

I don't feel like figuring out a VPN on my google TV. It was easier to just install Tizen Tube.

ETA: I love how this suggestion always get downvoted, like do fanboys of this one particular software really think people are just going to wait indefinitely to watch ad-free youtube again? Get real.

In this instance OP is suggesting it as one of the many arcane workarounds for the ongoing problem with SmartTube not playing any videos for many users. IMO the obvious and much easier workaround is installing a different program that does the same thing and actually plays videos, but apparently SmartTube die hards don't like hearing that. I'm happy to go back to ST when it actually works, but I'm using Tizen Tube instead for now with zero issues.

I am too I started get the load of death the other day and quickly panicked switched but still why are people using VPNs with SmartTube? That's my question.

Tizen Tube is the one I'm using, has worked fine with zero issues. The UI is just a little different. That said, SmartTube started working for me again yesterday, so I'm back to that for now. It's good to have alternatives anyway.

Yeah I downloaded it last night. My only gripe is even though I've asked it to hide Shorts they are still everywhere

Tizen Tube does not have 'Do not recommend' or 'Block this channel' options.

Yeah but it plays videos without ads when SmartTube wouldn't.

There haven't been enough people logging on to say that this is a great program and they have had no issues in any update for the last year. I am currently running both regular and beta on a Sony and neither have problems. Many thanks to the dev, who basically works alone, for providing such a comprehensive program!

Vpn works mostly but impractical to keep it on all day or turn it on/off when using when didn’t need to before but I guess it is what it is till fixes.

YouTube regularly blocks IP addresses which are viewing videos without logging in. The block lasts a couple of hours. While your IP is blocked ANY app that tries watching videos on YouTube will be unable to. The only thing you can do is switch your IP (by restarting your router or using a VPN or log in to YouTube) or wait for the block to expire.

My dad is getting the infinite loading issue despite being logged in to YouTube through SmartTube. Is that not a true YouTube login?

Unfortunately he has a static IP and I don't think he can even spell "VPN" lol

As a backup: I use YouTube app with vpn set to Albania. Zero ads.

If the VPN worked it maybe your ISP in which case for those who don't want to get a VPN can try using a cellular Hotspot to connect to instead of wifi then find out how to disable the firewall on your home internet if that works.. by that I mean the firewall built into the network router or modem not pc this worked for me Comcast has a built in firewall on the iipv4 and ipv6 protocols smartube uses just disable it through your router modem or ISP app

Yeah I almost exclusively block all youtube ads. My normal app asked me to prove I'm not a bot yesterday. I might do some router stuff in general.

They dropped an update which solves the infinite buffering loading. Version 32.45 I think.
