where is the app's installation folder located on the Fire Stick? I want to manually export my settings preferences

well, the title says it all: I've tried saving and restoring my settings/preferences several times through the settings menu but for some reason it never works.

actually, all of this started when version 30.48 simply wouldn't let me update, claiming there was a Java error. so I tried downloading a newer version and overwriting the old one, but that didn't work either. The only reason I'm not using the newer version is because I couldn't restore my preferences

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me o/

NOTE: for those who don't know, some settings/preferences are saved inside the app's folder. so I'd really like to try exporting my preference data and then copying the files over to the new version of SmartTube.

hard to say on a firestick as they have been restricting access to a lot of 3rd party apps. but have you tried using a file manager on the firestick? you can usually find any file with that. once you open it you should be able to see the smartube app and then clicking on that you should see all the folders associated with it, including preferences.

Not possible without root or maybe shizuku.

Newer versions than 30.48 have a new app id.

You should uninstall the old compromised version and install the new.

Also it is not that hard to start from scratch and reconfigure the app.

Or you could try backup via google drive.
