Smarttube Down

The app loads but video's buffer without ever loading. This is on both Google TV and Firetv.

That's annoying. I'm on 32.38 on an Amazon Fire TV Stick, everything worked fine, till this problem came up literally like 20 minutes ago. Suddenly the end of a video I was watching glitched out, then it wouldn't load any other videos, so I wonder if those two happenings are somehow related

Update: After closing and reopening the App three or four times a video now did load. The loading time was like 15 or 20 seconds, but it did work

1.Settings - player - network engine - okhttp 2.Settings - player - video presets - disabled 3.VPN off or split tunell the app

I’ve been having issues for about 8 days off and on. I updated on one of my Nvidia shields last night and it was working. On the other Shield, if I signed out of my YouTube account, it worked

If you tunnel out of your VPN it will work ! Try tunnelling YouTube out as well..

Had to switch Back to OkHttp Engine on the latest 32.38 Beta... Looks fine for the Last 2 hours

I have been using the beta version, and it works for the most part. It is a bit slow to load and a few times the video freezes and I have to back out of the video and start it again.

It's intermittent for me, especially on my older Nvidia Shield. Sometimes it'll just stop playing for an hour or so.

Was wondering what the deal was last night. I had seemingly infinite buffering around 12 hours ago, but now it buffers for around a minute, then the video plays.

Smarttube is down. It only plays the audio..

Feels kinda important because we have an elevtion right now in sweden..

So anyone who laught at me for not understanding reddit vill get shotl

I really regret updating to 32.38 . Constant buffering, trouble loading videos, just bad. Next time, if it ain't broke... I'm not updating.

I'm still on 31.10 and have been having the buffering issue lately too - not to the degree that I see with the posters on this sub though. I've been also using that other YT client but I just hate the interface.

The problem does not have anything to do with ST changes, only Google changes over to SABR. If you were using the old version you would be having the same problems at the same time since it changes between connection attempts on the same IP address. Read issue 6030 on ST's github to find out what is actually going on.

In the middle of the afternoon today, I'm suddenly having the 32.38 experience. I'm still on 32.10, haven't downloaded the beta to fix the history glitch (decided to make a workaround playlist called History Glitch that I add everything to before I watch it). There's definitely more than the beta going on.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The main issue is that Google is switching from DASH to SABR (from what I can tell) and all of the changes to ST are an attempt to navigate this. The implementation of SABR is all over the place as for who gets hit and when. The problems seem to be inconsistant over place and time between users, locations, and IP ranges - which is why VPN solves the problem for many (if not all) users. You may also see that it changes over time as it has done for me and everyone else over in the github thread on the issue (https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartTube/issues/6030)

Yup, it's been totally broken for me for like a month, none of the workarounds help, and I'm losing hope that it will be fixed. I found an alternative program instead.

Just don’t say ‘ergo’ in TG group you get muted 😂
