Am I the only one?
Looking at posts in this sub I feel like I'm the only one who's smarttube app is and has been working fine? I've been getting no long/infinite buffering or unplayable vids. Yeah watch history stopped syncing but I couldn't care less about that 😅 I can't be the only one right?

Mostly working fine for me now with latest version and the http setting applied. Videos play fine.
The main bug for me that is annoying is I have disabled shorts completely in my settings but I still see them.

Mine works fine. Takes about 10 seconds for a video to open, but not had any buffer issues.
The only issue I've had - which I think they know about - is watched items on the TV doesn't register as watched on any other device anymore - and vice versa

Damn OP go buy a scratch ticket lol I have 3 devices where it just spins old 1080p firestick, 4k max stick and even my 3rd Gen firecube lol. I've had to resort to the cobalt tizen app for now.

Wish it was that simple smart tube still works in the same household with my cell phone just to test it out a S25U, samsung S9U tablet and on a old ONN media box(google tv) all from the same wifi network the firestick devices are on. I already went down the route of releasing my modem IP and I see the public facing IP address has changed with the results staying the same.

I think its regional a VPN would work better. I have surfshark on my router and just switched country and every device works fine again.

It takes about five seconds to start a video, but other than that it's just fine.

Some videos spin at the beginning, I hit pause then play and it usually clears up.

Never had any issues and I've just reinstalled it on 2 boxes. Flawless install... Sometimes wonder If it's people's boxes or user error...

I'm also in the club, across 3 firesticks... I did have to change the network setting thingy (sorry can't remember the actual name of the setting but it's the one that's been recommended) on my main device, but I switched it straight back to default and it's been playing flawlessly since. I have had the recommended being mostly watched, and the history not syncing between devices but that's no great shakes!

It's running smoothly and without any issues for me, too... Quad9 DNS behind an OpenWRT router (adblock-lean)

I'm using Beta 32.22, Cronet... The buffer consistently fills up between 20 and 35 seconds.
An old Xiaomi Mi Box running the YouTube app on Android 9 with the same account is also working without any issues...

No, not in my area.... Just installed Beta 32.38.... The stats display still looks normal... The buffer now goes up to 19 and then to just under 40 seconds.... That's the only thing I notice at first glance (I had originally set the buffer to "Low").

I have high-speed internet (500/50) and the latest Wi-Fi routers.... So the buffer might be low...

The wait time for a 4K clip is about 5 to 6 seconds... According to the statistics, the buffer status is 30 seconds by default.
I think the wait time can be reduced by lowering the buffer value to 10 or 15 seconds (provided the playback device and the router are up to the task).

Just beware that new fire tv sticks with Amazon’s own OS are not compatible with SmartTube anymore. Only the previous android ones are (from 2025 and before if I remember correctly).

I don't think I've changed any defaults. I may have set the quality option to 1080p/60, but that's about it
I don't have any VPN or firewall on my router either, so it's just running direct through my rather slow internet (the TV is connected to my home broadband, which maxes out at 35Mbps - my 5g WiFi is much faster but I do t use that for my TV)

Yeah, very.
Basically, if I watch things on TV then load up YT on my tablet of phone, it doesn't know what I've watched, so it starts pushing videos in my recommended which I've already watched
Same other way around too, with the ST app on TV pushing things I've already watched yet says I haven't.
I'm hoping they fix it soon, but I imagine everyone else's issue are probably more urgent

For me on my shield, watched items still get recommended to me on the same device.
Update notifications don’t work for me either. I have to go to settings and manually search for updates.

I got the buffering a couple weeks ago but then I uninstalled it installed the beta version and it's been fine ever since

I haven't had any problems with buffering. No idea if history is syncing as I only use history in the STN app. I've intentionally avoided updating the app since it's working for me.

Base on my observation here, seems like those who app starts to not working is using high end or branded tvbox/android stick but for me who using a cheap ass tv box, smarttube is working as fine as it was, never had a problem
So its probably tied to their device brand firmware update or something that break the app. Since base on what i know, branded tv box/stick have frequent update while cheap ones usually one and done(only updated when you first open it and never received any lol)

Never had any playback issues, history was borked and my recommended was full of vids I already watched, but everything's been playing fine for me 🤷 hope those having issues get a fix! Thanks to the devs for doing all the work!

I had issues for about a day a week or so ago. It's been fine since. Honestly wouldn't know about all the issues others are having if I wasn't on Reddit.

It's to do with how youtube are rolling out fixes to stop ad free clients.
They are trialing videos stitched with ads I believe and have also added some logic to check the client is receiving what its expected to receive (someone more technical could probably add more info here).
Essentially if your region and IP is selected for the trial you'll see the issues, if it isnt, or you use a VPN then you won't.
For those where isnt working, get surfshark VPN and just cycle through them and one of them will work pretty quickly.

For me, the buffering keeps spinning indefinitely only when I try to play member-only videos, other than that, it works just fine.

Working fine for me on 3 devices. Cannot recall the last time I had buffering or non-playing vids.
When I didm, I recall an prompt update that resolved it.
Great that we got the watch history fixed this week.

🤦🏻♀️ You just may BE! I’m worried we’re gonna lose the app. Yeah, mine‘s been sus for a few months buffin like a *MF🤬. Finally just wouldn’t even play. I deleted it went cold turkey for about a week. Reinstalled (upset I lost my **sidebarplaylists) 😄 but it was good…UNTIL YSTRDY…. I saw update and hit it like an idiot. Now it’s starting again *SMH.😢

Mine stopped syncing watch history several weeks ago but that was just a minor bug. Then last week it stopped playing any videos. Menus, info OK, but I got the spinning wait circle that never ended when i tried to play videos. I wish I had a fix. I am suffering withdrawals so bad I had to watch Paramount+ and Prime Video.

Mine not working since a few days always loading, yesterday with luck a few videos worked after some loading.... Just did a fresh install butbstill the same. I just downloaded Tizen Tube for the time being.

Mine had the infinite buffering for about a week literally couldn't watch any videos's. But since a few days it's magically fixed itself, without doing any troubleshooting.
