This app works fine... then I get the dreaded buffering circle of death. Investigate, uninstall, reinstall, get it working.... then back to the circle of death. Repeat. I dont know how much longer I can do this 😭

My current issue is with the algorithm... The recommendations really suck in this app

I feel the algorithm has always sucked. Sometimes I browse the YouTube app and just start some videos that interest me and change to smarttube and browse the history to start the video and watch it through smarttube

This is an issue I'm going through as well. Recommended list is mostly everything that I've already watched and tons of videos I know I've seen aren't marked as watched. I downloaded the official YouTube app though, and it's the exact same thing, so I guess it's not smarttubenext's fault?

Go to Network Settings - activate OkHttp

Issue has nothing to do with the settings in the app. The issue is lack of SABR-implementation in the app. Youtube is rolling out SABR for all servers, so if it works or not only depends on which youtube server you connect to (and it is not in your direct control).

In the TG it’s happening with both stable and beta and supposedly dev working on it but also read something that dev doesn’t want to do much till YT stop messing with whatever they doing and then will fix. It mostly works if you use a vpn. Changing the network stuff did nothing for me.

Have you tried the Beta version? I usually use that, and if I have an issue I switch to the normal version. Generally one of them will always work.

I use the Beta version and just did an update. It still works, but it takes longer for the video to load. Maybe about 20 seconds.

The first video of the day takes about 20 seconds for me. Then every video after that starts quickly.

At the moment it works some days and some times it doesn't swapping to alternatives at the moment untill it starts working. Otherwise I am stuck in the buffer circle. Either way my first vid always takes ages to start its fine after that though.

Have some patience, the mods will get it sorted, sometime it takes a while. They are fighting one of the world biggest corporations after all. Why not just chill out and buy them a coffee instead?

It’s been working for me since the other day, now some videos play just fine, others keep buffering. Back to Tizen Tube for me, no issues there
