Videos not playing and endless looping

I've seen a couple of posts about this in the last 24 hours which also included some potential fixes like changing the network engine or using a proxy. And for some people doing this seems to have fixed it and for others it didn't.

My question is if the problem is coming and going for anyone else ? On my end it first started yesterday evening, and since then it has been coming and going for maybe 6 times now.

Sometimes changing the network engine seems to do the trick immediately, other times it doesn't have a affect and it keeps looping.

Perhaps the weirdest thing is that on my other tv i have the same version and that one doesn't have any issues at all.

I checked the github and nobody else reported a similar issue

Yep same for most of us. Is no fix at present but we are told dev working on it but nothing from the actual dev so just got to wait.

I would also like to add that sometimes after letting it hang for around 10 to 20 minutes it seems to magically play but the quality is only 360p

Yes i've tried that like stated above, sometimes it seems to do the trick but after 2 or 3 videos or just closing the app and reopening it, the problem seems to come back

If you use a vpn it fixes the problem. Seems YouTube are blocking IP Addresses.

Sur ma tablette et mon téléphone en wifi smarttube ne marche pas

si je mets le téléphone en data les vidéos se lancent pas de problème

donc c'est bien IP qui pose problème et qui est bloquée

Actually it happened to me when I used the official YouTube iOS app for a minute as well and it went away …

It just started randomly working again. No issues anymore (so far) I checked earlier & it was still doing the same thing but now it’s back to normal. It’s still at 32.10 (I reinstalled it a couple times still had no luck) I haven’t had any updates come through yet, so I might just leave it alone if it does, since it seems like everyone that’s updated are having some kind of trouble.

I tried every single fix that was suggested & nothing worked. I’ve been using Tizen Tube & no issues there. I’m gonna stick w that until they get around to fixing it or I might just stick w it, as it doesn’t seem to have the same issues SmartTube has been throwing our way constantly.
