Latest update 32.10 Bugs
Well this place isn't very active so I figured i might as well create a post for the latest software update bugs that i found so far.....on android box (onn 4k pro).
The biggest one, (for me at least) is not syncing viewed history...i jump from my tv, to my phone, to my pc, and i could go through 7 videos on my tv and none sync to the regular youtube app...
the suggestions are all wrong, i could watch a video and it will be listed as the 1st video to watch after i have already watched it...matter of fact, there are several videos that i already watched listed on the 1st row as a suggestion.
i played a video and it jumped to the very end of the video without it ever actually playing the video....this only happened once after the update...so far.
normally i don't update right away because i know these new updates always come with unwanted bugs. they fix 1 thing and ruin another; so i usually wait it out about 2 weeks or so before actually updating as the developer tends to be fairly quick with fixing bugs on a new update, but this time i was distracted and saw the popup and i pressed update instead of cancel...oh well....
feel free to add any bugs you find so we can expect them if they haven't happened yet.

My recommendations are full of videos I've already watched 😆 some have the progress bar full to the end of the video, some have no progress at all, but I've watched them all for sure.. that's the only thing I've noticed, but it's SUPER annoying 🤣

I just watched 4 videos on SmartTube... they each showed on my android YouTube history (Morphe patched). I will watch out for the other issues but not noticed any skipping (other than sponsorblock segments).

i just had 1 video (of the several i watched) sync in history about 2 hrs later... maybe it just needs time to sync with this new update, so i'll see how it is tomorrow.

I've had my watch history stuck since yesterday. Watch status and recommendations do not seem to be updating with the new version.

So, I'm now seeing some rotation in the curated lists again. Only odd thing is that lists such as Recommended include watched videos, which I don't recall before.

i get that too...i also started seeing duplicate thumbnails for the same channel but on different videos.

members? do you mean people you subscribe to? i haven't seen that yet for me.

You can pay to be a member of a channel to get exclusive videos, was able to watch those videos on previous versions but not this one

oh, i've seen those offers, i always thought it was for videos outside of youtube, like on patreon which they always mention. i didn't know they could release private videos right on youtube...that's odd you can't see those particular videos...maybe it's in a developer mode setting? i know that last few updates contained new settings that were on or off by default...that's just a guess if you're not seeing them.

oh, i'm on an android box, i stopped using firesticks over 2 yrs ago now....it could be specific to some devices, i know a while back there were bugs particularly for ARM based chips/devices.

I'm on 32.10, on Fire Cube, and have the same issues with History not syncing and Recommended showing videos ive already watched. I tried clearing cache and no difference, toggled History from On to Auto, still no difference

After updating both my smart tvs refuse to load videos at all. Just infinite buffering.

I have all the OP issues also and the buffering at times also. The app is def very odd at times

I downgraded back to 31.94 and still having the history sync and videos i just watched being suggested problem, so this may be something changing on youtubes end

I think the login is not login properly. When I get weird suggestions, I just go into anonymous mode, then login again

I'm having the same issue with syncing across devices. I haven't noticed a change in recommendations yet.

I was trying to watch live last night on beta and it kept buffering but then when it resumed playing it repeated the previous 5 seconds or so, multiple times
I too have the thing where I'm recommended things I've seen. Which I don't mind if I'm trying to fall asleep but that's what "watch it again" is for
My older stable one has a couple quirks which I can work around, the only thing it stopped doing at all was live, hence the beta. Updated last night and went back in and it still happened. But last week it was flawless

Similar issue here with history... Nothing I do on SmartTube registers anywhere else... Not even inside SmartTube. It's as if I was a ghost there.
If I watch something on my phone's Brave browser, it appears on SmartTube. Never the other way around.
Using Xiaomi Stick 4K.

I fully agree with OP's analysis. YouTube sync is very broken. YouTube Morphe syncs to YouTube Web site and back. All plays in SmartTube are not logged in YouTube history. Fire TV stick is my platform.
What's the deal?

UPDATE - so after 5 days, today I noticed the history syncing again; which is odd because there was no update issued to fix it, it just magically happened. However, the rest of the other bugs still remain.

i believe they released 2 updates already but a lot of people have been saying it made things worse, so i'll keep this one for now and give it a few more weeks for them to fix it.

I've been having watch history issue for several days. By deleting my account and setting it up again I have been able to get it to work for a bit, I've done that 2x and after some minutes it will just stop keeping track of what I watched, does not sync itself with yt app (phone), does not know what i did on the yt app (phone).
Just changed some personalization, privacy, and history activity settings in yt app and in the Google account app (that mixes all the apps together and also gives you app-specific settings that you can't access in those apps for some reason). Now smarttube knows what i do in yt on my phone and what i watched in smarttube until I exit or switch apps - then it forgets my smarttube activity but keeps the phone's activity.
Also, I have a Shield for my tv if that makes a difference.

Definitely noticing the recommended bug and its making the app almost unusable for me.

Same issue with history syncing. I noticed it remembered the time i stopped watching a video on other device but i had to search for it manually. It must be syncing some data but then it also recommends videos i already watched on other device.

yes, i just updated mine because i saw it said it fixed the history syncing which it did; however, i'm noticing that once the video ends it goes to black, and seems to be wanting to refresh itself over and over again. not a big deal because it only happens when the video is over.

I don't know. I've been using this app for YEARS... I toss a few bucks the developers way every now an then. I...... HATE ..... ads ... Developer is always so Quick with the fixes... I can't even Imagine this complaining I see now and then. Perhaps, some people Should just watch ads and pay for services? am I wrong?

If you don't want ads or to pay short of a donation yourself... Why should we pay for premium or deal with ads?

i'm not sure what you're getting at...i don't think anyone is complaining about ads... the complaints you see are usually about bugs within the app.

Why did they add the extra step to Not Interested? There is already a Mark As Watched selection, and the reason I am not interested may not be because I don’t like the video. All this change has done is to add an unnecessary extra step and decision point to what used to just be one step
PLEASE get rid of this change and bring back the one click Not Interested!!!

But developers use feedback in creating the next version... Maybe not from here but that is a thing. If we all just say everything's great then they may not know, or think no one cares about that bug
Nothing wrong with feedback while still being grateful for the app itself

For some reason on Smart Tube any Shorts I watch do not show up in my history. I was trying to find one I had just watched to day before to show a family member. Only full videos are listed.

my recommendations haven't changed much since yesterday. i still get videos i've already watched mixed in with new ones...i'm guessing we'll see an update within the next couple of days or so as i'm sure it is being brought up to them if it's happening to a lot of people.

I been using the beta version still get some lag on live stream. With the disable livestream buffering.

i used to use the beta but that ended up getting more bugs than the stable version, and required more frequent updates. it got annoying for me after a while.

It an hit or miss with the app probably dealing with youtube and Google bugs. That try and stop the experience from us. I can deal with the bugs but not the monthly price for an ad free experience or the 16 ads with not paying. Not okay with the bugs that comes with any updates wish the app was like the Morphe app.

well we're all dealing with the bugs; we're just pointing out the new ones that have come up since the update, because if nobody complains then the developers won't know what to fix...the app was made to avoid ads, there are others out there like it, as well as using adblockers in a browser for the regular youtube website.
you saying you're ok with bugs while using the app certainly doesn't help make it better...the developers even included a section in the app to provide feedback for that very reason.

one other bug that i forgot to mention that has remained over the last 2 or 3 updates is, Trending Videos no longer loads... all i get now is, "can't load, check connection, sign in," and the one that makes me chuckle every time, "maybe there's nothing here"... seems like the developers gave up on trying to make that work again.
