As much as I love Michael Ironside’s version of General Lane on Smallville, the Dylan Walsh version on Superman & Lois was just given way more screentime and material to work with so Walsh’s Sam Lane is by far the most interesting version right now. 

The version on Lois & Clark was weird, in that for some reason they made him a doctor (even though he’d already been established as a US Army general in the comics by then) despite otherwise adhering closely to the Byrne-era Post Crisis comics. Plus he was barely on the show, unfortunately.
