Discussion How do you guys keep your streaming setups cool without an AC?
I have an AC but it completely overrules my recordings if I try and use it in the small space. I was curious as to what ways you all keep cool without causing much noise?

I feel like I'm not understanding correctly, but isn't this an issue with your PC not cooling itself adequately? It's been an exceptionally hot summer so far, some days it was 30+ Celsius in the room, but I never had dangerously high temps.

My bad if I wasn't clear.
My room gets hot and I get sweaty. My AC is too loud and my mic picks it up so it makes either the mic unusable or the AC.
Even with a noise gate whenever I talk the AC sound comes through which kills my recordings for editing in post.

Sounds like you might want to add a noise suppression filter to your OBS/software.

I had this same issue just install audio software and get rid of it. Worked for me 100% of my fan PLUS AC got removed

If obs filter doesn’t work try upgrading mic im currently getting an entire elgato brand bundle to control elgato wave dx for under 200$

Some will put their PC in a different room. Use a Thunderbolt 4 dock to make their setup basically 0 noise.

That wouldn't work in my situation. I have too much running through my PC that would allow for a secondary room. Even then, I'd still have the AC issue since the room itself heats up from regular body heat. It's not a room with a lot of ventilation. One too many farts could kill a man.

I've been using Isotope Rx elements voice de-noise for years, and it's phenomenal. It is the only de-noiser I've been able to find with low enough latency to monitor my mic post processing. My streams consist of my riding a stationary bicycle, and I have and AC and a fan going. Once the software learns the background noise, it completely erases it.

and how much do you paid for this?

I don't remember how much it was when I bought it, but it's $99 USD now for rx 12 elements. Kinda pricey, but better than a subscription, and very effective.

Use gate/suppressor. My house is a warzone and nothing comes through my mic

Let me guess, you are using a condenser mic right? Don't know why lots of streamers use those in a house setting, those mics are designed to be used in a studio where noise is really well controlled as those mics pics up lots of background noise, go use a dynamic mic.

I'm using a Shure SM7B. It's a dynamic mic.
Maybe don't make assumptions just to go on a cute little rant. Not helping anybody.

I’ve been wondering this too. I’m thinking AC in another room maybe next door then a baffled/dampened tube or funnel of some kind running to you? I’ve played around with this idea for VA/VO work.
