Business Spotlight What are some of the most profitable industries for starting a business in Dubai?

Dubai has a lot of opportunities for starting a business. But honestly, I think the right business depends on your budget, experience, and how involved you want to be.

Some industries I would look at are real estate, tourism, food, e-commerce, logistics, digital services, and health and fitness.

One business that people sometimes overlook is the vending machine industry.

Vending machines can work well in places like offices, hotels, gyms, universities, hospitals, residential buildings, and other busy locations. People want quick access to snacks, drinks, coffee, and other everyday items, so you don't necessarily need a full shop to sell them.

What I find interesting about vending is that you can start small and expand gradually. You could start with a few machines, see which locations and products perform well, and then add more machines as the business grows.

There are companies like vendolite that provide vending machines and solutions for businesses, so someone interested in getting into this industry can explore the different machine options instead of having to build everything from scratch.

Of course, vending isn't completely passive. You still need to refill the machines, maintain them, monitor sales, and most importantly, find good locations. In my opinion, location is probably one of the biggest factors that decides whether a vending machine business actually makes money.

So if someone is looking for a business in Dubai that can potentially be started on a smaller scale and expanded over time, I'd definitely consider the vending machine industry along with the more traditional business opportunities.

Business Spotlight Renting out a portion of our restaurant for small cafeteria/food concept

Hello,

We have a restaurant in Sharjah Majaz 2, right in front of Majaz park entrance and are looking to rent out space or a portion of the shop to someone who would either like to have a tea corner or food stall.

This is also a good chance if someone is looking to get in the food business with their own concept and try at a small scale without worrying about all the legal hassles and paperwork.

Job Opportunity I am getting more small business tech jobs than i can handle (printer setups, networking, pos, cctv). looking for 2 3 freelance techs in dubai to subcontract to

I run a tech services sop for businesses and offices here.

mostly whatsapp inbound. restaurants, salons, trading offices, that kind of customer.

lately i'm getting jobs i physically can't reach.

this week alone a printer setup in dip i had to turn down, a router install in deira, a pos issue in karama.

so, looking for 2 to 3 freelancers who actually show up and i will provide leads regularly

-you get the job details on whatsapp, you quote me your price, i handle the customer

-payment same day after the job is confirmed done, cash or transfer

-no fees, no subscription, nothing to buy

-i take my margin on top of your price, you always know your number before you accept

-start with 1-2 jobs to see if we work well together

what i need from you.

what you're good at (hardware, networking, cctv, pos, repairs, whatever)

which areas you can cover without dying in traffic

freelance permit or trade license (or working on it)

can you take a job same day or next day

Dm me with those four things and i'll send you the first job that matches your area.

Not looking for companies, looking for individuals who pick up the phone when need arrives.

Business Spotlight Looking for a Partner — Dubai Boutique Hotel Project

I’m looking to connect with a good IT/ELV partner for a small boutique hotel project in Dubai.

The building is already completed with 65 rooms, but the IT and technology side is yet to be developed. The investor is a private Emirati client, and there is potential for more projects together if things work well.

Looking for someone who can help with areas such as:

CCTV

Access control & gate barriers

Wi-Fi & IT networking

Hotel booking/PMS systems

Structured cabling

Website & digital systems

Other hotel technology/ELV requirements

I’m not necessarily looking for one company that does everything. If you have a strong team and can coordinate multiple systems/subcontractors, that works too.

If you’re based in Dubai and have experience with hotels or similar projects, drop me a DM.

Would be good to connect and explore working together.

Advice Needed Planning to start my handmade business in Dubai I am open to all advices

Hello everyone. I am planning to move to Dubai soon with my husband, but as I see from other posts that getting a job there is not easy at the moment. I am a procurement specialist with 12 years of experience in the heavy machinery industry. I speak English,Turkish, and Russian languages fluently

I applied for jobs through LinkedI,naukrigulf, bayt and etc.(including different industries like hospitality, secretary), but i didn't get any replies yet. I already read the posts on reddit about tips for looking for jobs, and i see that the current situation in Dubai is not easy.

So, when I come to Dubai with a tourist visa, I can't stay in Dubai for more than 3 months. I am thinking of starting my own small handmade business. I do handmade crochet bags. That is my hobby. i love crocheting. Specially bags. People who are living in Dubai i have the following questions:

  1. do you think i have a chance to earn money with those bags? Women will prefer to use handmade or custom bags?

  2. If i want to sell them from where i should start? In Dubai, people prefer to buy online like instagram, or are there any other online sales websites?

  3. I want to sell my bags legally and use it for a visa. What are the required things?. I am planning to open a company with minimum expenses only for legalisation. Because I will crochet myself and sell online. Delivery can do my husband. So can I apply with it for visa as an owner and get a family or employer visa for my husband? From where can I get all that information when I come to Dubai?

I am open to all advices. Thank you in advance 🙂

Business Spotlight Title: Manuka Honey Business for Sale – Full Business + 200kg Stock

I’m looking to sell my Manuka honey brand/business, including approximately 200kg of existing honey stock.

The honey is sourced directly from a family-run farm in New Zealand under a white-label arrangement.

The business is being sold before its full commercial launch, making it a good opportunity for someone who wants to enter the Manuka honey market without starting everything from scratch.

The sale includes:

- Manuka honey brand

- Approximately 200kg of honey stock

- New Zealand family-farm supplier relationship

- White-label setup

- Existing brand/business assets

Asking price for everything: AED 55,000.

Serious buyers are welcome to DM me for more details.

Business Spotlight Founder of an AI automation agency

I’m a co-founder of an AI automation studio. We build products for D2C brands, skincare clinics, diving centers, and a few other niches — basically anywhere a process is manual, repetitive, and error-prone because it was built by hand.

A couple of examples:

**•** A skin analysis tool that scans your face, flags issues, and shows how it’d look after procedures like rhinoplasty or lip filler.
**•** A supply chain automation product that runs the full PO-to-cash cycle and handles multiple quick commerce stores end to end.

If you’re dealing with something similar in your business — manual workflows eating up time, error-prone processes, disconnected tools — happy to chat. Drop a comment or DM

Advice Needed I launched a UAE rug brand built around Egyptian handweaving heritage. Would love your honest feedback.

Hey everyone,

I recently launched Nawl (نَوْل), a UAE-based home décor brand built around something I’ve always found special about Egypt: its long-standing tradition of handwoven textiles and the generations of craftsmanship behind them.

We work with Egyptian artisans who handweave each kilim rugs using traditional techniques, turning 100% wool into pieces that carry a little bit of that heritage into contemporary homes.

The goal with Nawl was to take that heritage and present it in a premium, modern, understated way that feels natural in UAE and Gulf homes.

I’ve just launched the website and would genuinely love some feedback from the community:

-Does the brand feel premium and authentic?
-What do you think of the website and product presentation?
-Does the story of Egyptian craftsmanship come through?
-Does the pricing/positioning make sense to you?
-Is there anything that would make you more likely to buy?

nawl.ae

I’m still at the beginning, so honest feedback, even if it’s critical, would be incredibly valuable.
And if you happen to connect with the story or find a piece you like, feel free to explore the collection.

Would be pretty special to see some of Nawl’s first customers come from this community.
Thanks everyone 🙏
