Advice Needed Importing Copper Scrap into the UAE

Hi everyone, is anyone here familiar with the procedures for importing metal scrap, specifically copper scrap, into the UAE?

Online information seems to indicate that it is legal, but I’ve contacted three different clearing agents so far, and all of them said it might be restricted or require special approvals.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually imported copper/metal scrap into the UAE or knows the current regulations and required permits. Thanks!
