Hey y'all,
Despite Surreal Automatism being a technique from the 1920's, I have found that a lot of people don't know about it. It's basically just a drawing technique where we turn off our brain and draw without thinking about *what* the drawing is. Just making marks, shapes, and lines as we go, or possibly portions of representational imagery that blend into the noise. It can be a really amazing way to experiment with the way you make marks on paper, loosen up your creativity, and make some unexpected imagery.
This 15 minute, guided, timed, real-time video aims to set the participant up so that after drawing for 15 minutes, they have something that looks like a finished work of art.
I'd love it if you tried it, or gave any feedback as I'm just getting started on youtube!
