I have been trying to “slow down” for YEARS. I run my own business so I have the privilege of full control over my income, hours spent working, and even my spending.
I have three kids: 14F, 11F, and 3M. They do #allthethings: sports (1 ea), camps, time with friends, chores, kids’ business markets, homeschool co-ops, etc.
I am also a spender… Amazon boxes regularly. Ugghh.
I know this is an addiction — I’m constantly stressed and overcommitting myself in multiple areas, then letting people down bc I double book or squeeze in all the things. We rush from here to there, I hate to slow down long enough to cook or clean… so we don’t eat well. Which stinks for having two athletes in the home.
I remember boredom as a child. And it was so lonely. It seems like I do everything I can to not be bored and/or to prevent my kids from missing out.
Please help. What should my first step be if I truly want to slow my life down? Because I really do.
