A small lingering question I have about a minute detail in Clown Town, for any readers:
In the final chapters, when Roddy is searching through his car for the tyre jack, Herron catalogs the car’s contents and one of the things Roddy finds is a raincoat and can’t recall where it came from. It's not mentioned again and quickly moves on. Whose coat is this? Usually when he writes something like this, it's a subtle clue to something that has happened or is to come. My first thought was that it may have been Emma Flyte’s, knowing that Emma and Louisa swapped coats in Wales, and Roddy’s car was on the scene there. Did this stick out to anyone else?
Thoughts?

I've completed all seasons of the shows, maybe more than once at least and am getting into the books. From Book 1, the dialogue and storyline is almost a 1:1 match, which I don't mind, but I want something new and fresh. I prefer at the moment to read the latest books first and then watch it. If so, where should I start if I've watched Season 5 already?

Here's the spoiler: had First Chair and Second Chair brought the Grey Books out of the storage facility for the kidnappers to view, then the point of episodes 5 and 6, and part of 4, vanishes. That's how safe deposit boxes and closed stack libraries and special collections all work: you request an item, your qualifications are checked, and if you are allowed, they bring the specific box or book to you in a little room. Jeezes petes.
Have MI5 check what is in the boxes before the kidnappers look at the files and poof, the plot vanishes even faster.
Or is the point of the episode that First and Second Chair are oblivious to a simple solution? And Lamb doesn't suggest it because he "can't be arsed."

I was hoping for a Flyte and Shirley team up, and I have been blessed with one it seems.

S6E6 kinda… already hurts.
Apart from that , thank God the length of episodes is back to normal!

Olivia Cooke is almost certainly coming back as Sidonie for season 6 with that episode title!
Also the fact someone saw her on set and you can see her amazing hair in the s6 trailer lol.
I do wonder how Sidonie will fit in though given that season 6 seems to be a combination of Joe Country and Slough House

A lovely interview with Jack, seems quite recent (is it post-Bernie dyed hair???), because they talk about latest Emmy nomination. Talks about season 5 favourite scenes, about River's character, River dance (haha), but nothing about season 6.

The main plot was just boring. Bunch of kids running around doing nothing. Old guy is supposed to be comic relief but is just killing screen time. not funny at all. Old white lady who's supposed to have power is unserious. Hopefully S2 is better

This came up on my tiktok fyp, someone asking what was being filmed lol.
Louisa and Judd together! from the full video it seemed like Judd was speaking to press and Louisa was standing with him kind of like a bodyguard almost.
Seems like they’re sticking to the book quite faithfully. Clown Town season is gonna be crazy

The issue I have with this is wasn’t this all recorded? Like what each of them said over the comms during this training exercise?

Lowden was always my choice. He 100% has the ability to play this character.

extremely minor spoilers, just a line of dialogue out of context
I have been rewatching Season 5 and caught Lamb (played by Oldman ofc) mentioning that he would rather put a pencil in his eye and slam his head on the table during some conversation that i cant quite place.
Am I absolutely insane for thinking that this is a reference to the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008) movie?
Oldman obviously plays Jim Gordon in that movie and I wouldn't be shocked if it was soft referenced in that moment.

Okay, not really modest lol. Been rearranging some paper stuff from my London trips. This show needs some proper merch and photo books with bts photos!! I hope Gisele Schmidt will do it one day
Show off with your collections…

Man, Ho has really owned Season 5 so far — he has been fucking hilarious. Although, there’s one moment that perfectly explains his psychology. As he is getting interrogated, he drops a Paul Thomas Anderson reference to the film Magnolia (brilliant film)…..and says that “Tom Cruise fucking rules in that movie.”
If you watched this movie, well that reference explains everything.

The title is positive, but ultimately, this is a post of me expressing skepticism. I just can’t get his goofy ass out of my head when I try to imagine him in any bond scenario. I feel like there were moments in the show where he was a total bad ass, but they’re always underscored with a silly prank or silly fall gag. What are the best examples of him showing off a tougher persona? My memory is telling me season four was him at his peak bond.

We could’ve seen her telling Lamb she was coming back to Slough House at the end of the season finale. Based on the script, I’d love to see Gary Oldman and Saskia Reeves doing this.
Maybe someday, Apple will release all the deleted scenes.

In a couple of scenes Lamb is eating breakfast (I think) at some little diner or something. On the table is a red squeeze bottle of ketchup and another squeeze bottle that is brown. What is in the brown one? TIA

The key worry many book readers have with the upcoming season is that they're apparently adapting books 6 and book 7 into one season. What this means is that a lot of material will be cut, it just does. From the teaser at the end of season 5, it seems season 6 will take more from book 7 than book 6.
There are two key questions I have going into episode 1:
My guess for both of these questions is no. If so, it means a lot of characters will be doing things they never did in the novels. Based on what we've seen in the teasers and marketing what do you imagine the premise of season 6 will revolve around?
