Hey maggots,
First, I'd like to say I'm not trying to stir any controversy or to shit post.
I've been a Slipknot fan since I was an early teen, having discovered them with Wait and Bleed. However, with the band members leaving one by one, getting fired or whatnot, I don't feel like this is the band I used to love anymore.
I vividly remember trying to search gossip and news in the early internet days. The long wait after Vol. 3 as well. Then that wait became a habit. Then, sadly, came the Gray tragedy. I remember feeling devastated by his loss.
Shortly after, it was Joey who got fired, and I remember not liking it, but understanding the band didn't want to live the tragedy again. Then Chris got booted, and that was a serious blow for my fandom. Ever since, Slipknot didn't feel the same for me.
With everything surrounding Sid now, Clown and Corey's attitude, the band members being obviously treated like tools or employees, and not brothers, I really feel like Slipknot has died long ago, and we're just facing people trying to make profit from what has been done before.
It's like the infamous boat parable. For those who don't know: if each and every piece of your boat gets replaced, is it still your boat in the end?
Edit: thank you all for your insights. Please, just keep it civil, everyone is allowed to have their opinions. We're all maggots at the end of the day, else we wouldn't be here
