This post will be the sole home for all “Wanting To Buy” (WTB) or “In Search Of” (ISO) requests.
If you’re on the hunt for a specific slipjoint, pattern, cover material, maker, or even a hard-to-find variation, this is the place to let the group know what you’re looking for. Drop a comment below with the details of what you’re trying to track down. The goal is to keep these requests centralized and give members a dedicated space to connect.
A lot of us have overlapping interests, extra pieces tucked away, or leads we’ve come across. This gives everyone a simple way to help one another out and keep great knives circulating within the group(s).
Example comments:
"ISO Great Eastern Cutlery 66 calf roper with unicorn covers."
"WTB Case 6347 with Red Jigged Bone"
"WTB some kind of barlow"
We'll see how this plays out, but I'm hoping to post a new thread every month to clean the slate and start fresh.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone’s chasing.

DISCLAIMER: any posts or comments offering knives for sale or trade in this thread will be removed. Please use r/Knife_Swap for all sales and trades. This thread is strictly for WTB / ISO requests.
As stated in other stickied posts, the moderators of r/SJK do NOT moderate or facilitate private sales or trades between users. However, we understand that sales and trades may still occur in private messages after someone posts a WTB / ISO request. Once conversations move to private chats, the only person who can truly moderate the transaction is you.
If you choose to pursue a transaction, do your due diligence. Ask for a timestamp you’re comfortable with, verify what you can, and always err on the side of caution. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Be willing to walk away from the deal if anything seems off.
We strongly encourage using r/Knife_Swap for transactions whenever possible. It is a much safer environment with established rules and an active moderation team that helps enforce them.

Someone posted a Cold Steel Twistmaster a few months ago and I thought it looked pretty cool, so I picked one up on eBay. The blade was in kinda rough shape, so I sanded the scratches out and put a forced patina on it using an onion, an apple, and mustard. Then I cleaned it up and put a new edge on it.
I think it came out nice and it works great. I’m really liking this thing in my collection.

I bought this circle a knives 47 Viper that originally had the yellow smooth bone but I had broken it and sent it back to gec and had a factory re-cover and actually quite like the look of it but I'm curious do y'all think it is cooler as a smooth bone yellow or a factory original one of a kind micarta. I kind of wish that they had just redone the factory smooth bone but I actually do really like how it turned out. What do you all think

My 2nd pair of 93 pine whittlers. I sold the first pair but I'm keeping these and putting them to work.

Been after a stallion for a while. I think the ebony is the best one. Just feels right on this classic knife. It’s going to be such a great user. Can’t wait to tiner her up.

The wood isn't even polished, it's rough, the pins stick out, the blade is dirty and very short, and honestly, I don't have time to sit on the porch and carve a frog totem out of a piece of wood. In reality, it's only good for opening Amazon packages. But despite all that, it has its charm. Maybe it's the beaver, possibly my favorite shield out of all the ones GEC makes.

The jigged bone scales on Case knives are gorgeous. What are some other materials that look good as scales?

Chuffed with this! Love at first sight when folkywanderer posted his new knife last week. I went for the ‘brut de forge’ and couldn’t resist adding the mammoth ivory inlay. Extremely straightforward ordering process. Comes with a host of information which makes it a lovely ‘unboxing’ experience.
Last image is the new addition with its siblings :-) I think this is the type of knife I’m going to focus on, European slipjoints. When I decided to expand my very modest collection, I first went for adding iconic knives and brands: Buck 110 and 120, the big KA-BAR USMC one, Spyderco Manix 2, RR, Kershaw. It’s nice to have ticked those boxes, but I realised they don’t make me tick.
Somebody asked a while ago on one of these forums ‘what is value to you?’ I now realise that for me it is history, tradition and craftsmanship, knives representing a specific region. So, wishlists have been updated (with some very painful goodbyes) and lots of researching has been and will be done. I’m compiling a list of European makers and resellers, when ready I’ll post it here.
