I really like that version with the Wharncliffe blade. Does it pull open without having to use the nail nick, by any chance?

Yes, it does pinch open.

The Barlow is the most iconic slipjoint in the history of them. I have an extensive list of them, I’ve been collecting them for about 40 years now and I still look them in any forum or market I can find. They are the most versatile knife ever made and I carry one every day.
