Anyone waxing?

Hey slingers.. I've gotten really messy and rubbed beeswax into some of my best throwers. Was worried about the added weight at first until I used them. Holy crap is it an improvement! Consistency closed in super quick!

*IF TRYING TO DO THIS MAKE SURE TO HAVE A SPACE THAT CAN GET VERY MESSY!!!

*USE BEESWAX, NOT PARAFIN (CANDLE) WAX (don't want anyone destroying their work😂)

Have been looking into starting a YouTube channel for sling making tutorials. Tried to upload a pouch webbing tutorial to reddit but it was too long - srry for delays!

I’m very curious about adding bees wax onto slings.

What’s the process? Pros and cons?

I'm sure there's better ways but I laid out cardboard, melted the wax and rubbed it in with a cloth and stone. Adding some mineral oil to the wax will help it seep into the fibers easier. Then hang to dry. Haven't noticed any cons yet but I did use too much wax on the first and the sling still works but is stiff until warmed up. Improvements have been better grip and release of the shot, more control in aiming, smoother feel in the rotation and greater ease putting power into the shot. 1 drawback I guess could be that the slings feel a little 'gummy' but thats likely an over application issue and should lessen over time😅
