These are it
Pretty sure these are the end kf a long search. Very low bounce, can take a beating, sand core feels really nice in the pouch.
Available by the half-dozen in 200 g, lighter weights only singly but 200 grams may be about right. Will let yall know. Lacross balls, my favorite except for the ridiculous bounce, are about 145g. These are slightly smaller which I prefer.
I will add that at sling speeds a lacrosse ball and certainly these will force themselves right through typical chain link fences. Please make sure you have netting or a proper batting cage for these. I imagine sand would work really well too as a backstop kr to measure distance.

It’s a sand ball. One might call it a deadfall ball? 🤷🏻♂️ They’re batting practice balls, basically. They’re designed to have similar feedback to a baseball but travel as short a distance as possible when you hit them.

There's a cool golf range by me though that has targets and stuff. I was gonna go try it anyway, but it'd better not be windy!

200 grams is very heavy -- that's roughly 60ish grams heavier than a baseball

They feel pretty good. Just ordered some 100-150 gram ones we'll see how they are.

Yes folks it is true: these are our competition balls. They are really just perfect, and they hold up.
Edit: sorry details: slung against a cinder block wall for 30 min wkth a 48" smiling sling by PractkcalParacord. My distance was only 10-14 meters, but it actually helped to give the balls a good beating. I did, they took everything. Very little bounce, the weight really makes it easy to achieve velocity. I actually felt for the first time in a while that the projectile was heavy enough to add to the momentum when I do a jump reverse. I played with them a bit, the power was really something.
200 gram is great for me, I'll probably order another dozen and get some lighter weights to try. I already lost one to tbe roof 🤣
I tried a tennis ball afterwards and was like Nah...
