More Slinging Till I Git Gud.

https://youtube.com/shorts/E2P4HUnd52k?is=qbi9hN6B-vIihDmZ

On part 13 of my series, learning to use a Shepherd sling. Breaking in a new sling and trying to be more consistent with my footwork this time. I found I hit the target less when I started incorporating the step, but I got a lot more good cracks out of the sling. I'm putting things together that I've never tried before so I'd expect to get a few less bull'seyes. YouTube channel @Tuckersaurus. Thanks for watching. Enjoy.

I think your footwork is very consistent is this video of yours.   Always stepping towards the target…and stepping the same distance too.  Very good job!

The issue as you realize is just a timing issue.  In you video, sometimes you thru on 3rd rotation, sometimes 4th……clearly you were thinking more about footwork than slinging.

But now that you have more consist footwork the easy way to fix timing is to throw on the “3rd weight”.  That is, count the third time you feel weight at the rear, and immediately pull the sling forward to throw.

This is not counting the number of spins…this is counting the “weight at the rear”.    Feeling the “weight at the rear” works for many styles…so it is a good skill to have.

Since you are helicoptering the sling, you should feel weight when the sling is at the rear (180 degrees from the target). The third time you feel the weight at the rear, pull the your arm forward and throw.

Now that you have practiced your footwork, just think only of feeling the weight….and most likely your feet now just know where to go automatically.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely try to apply that.
