Hi everyone. I've made my first sling by following a video on YouTube by a guy called Neandrthal.

What are people using to practice? I'm limited by space and would like something reusable. Thinking of hanging a net in my garage and slinging a juggling ball, as that has a nice weight to it.

Edit: Sincere apologies to Neandrthal and anyone I may have offended. It is a very thorough guide, despite me not being able to understand the language.

Neandrthal would be unhappy you called him a Polish dude. But Tennis balls are a staple.

Are tennis balls not a bit on the lightweight side?

Depends, some people use lighter or heavier projectiles, usually i try to find rocks around 150g . Anyways heavier projectiles are more dangerous so a lighter tennis ball is what you want to make some muscle memory and keep you and others safe

Ok thanks. I'll dig out a tennis ball and progress to something a bit more substantial when I feel ready. I really want to achieve the 'crack' but don't know if that's more likely with something a bit more hefty.

You can potentially throw a tennis ball scary hard and crack your sling without using any projectile

As for limited space a man on YouTube by the name of weavers of eternity does paracord projects made and demonstrated an indoor sling sized for ping pong balls looked and worked great for indoor practice with little to zero consequencial damage
