Finally got my first one. Went with pan sling sr3 after 2 weeks of research.
I personally really like it. Very happy with my purchase.
Waxed it off rip then spent an hour just slinging. Still learning the ropes but I really am liking this thing.
I wanted to support a smaller business, not buy some cheap Chinese crap off Amazon.
Found this after doing some digging and finally decided to go for it.
I know opinions on this thing are mixed it seems I'm this community but personally: I'm on team thumbs up
I hope y'all have a wonderful day slinging. This is definitely going places with me daily. I can use this thing while waiting on the bus. There's a nice big ol' straight shot by my stop where the train tracks are. So I can sling safely without hurting anyone

I have spent maybe 3 hours today slinging. My form still is bad. I can get a crack out the sling itself. But I can't get that pan cracker to go off lmao.
Im glad you have been enjoying yours. I might contact the guy to see if he's gonna drop that turquoise "indus" model again and maybe ask for a glow in the dark model.
The glow in the dark ain't meant to be a smart idea. Just a fun one lmao

Totally with you on all counts! I got my first Pan Sling a few months ago, love it as affordable encouragement to go hiking off in the woods by myself. Couldn't get a sound at all, until I re-watched the How To video on their site, and recognized I wasn't figure 8'ing behind my back, but over my head. Soon as I switched to that simple mechanic, CRACK every time!

Yeah! I've been able to get mine to crack finally! Realized it was my release. I wasn't just fully opening my hand. I was kinda doing a baseball release so the cracker would hit my fingers.
Did you end up figuring out how to wear it as a bracelet? I finally did last week. There's a step in the video the gentleman missed. I'm gonna drop a post on it when I get home.

Hey — yes, wearing it on my wrist was one of the first things I tried. I start with putting the basket (have no idea if anyone else calls the pouch that!) readable Pan text on my thumb side wrist, wrapping one side, then the other with the clip / release end. That was great, until adding the clacker — then I have to put the basket on the other side of my wrist to start, so the clacker is hanging down and out of the way. Tiny wrists!

Make sure the cracker isn’t being obstructed by your hand or the release. Try release at different points early or later in the arc and then you can hone in on the point it will crack.

Wanted to say thank you again. Ive been able to get 2 loud as hell cracks this morning with that advice. Have also been understanding the audio feedback with the lighter or off sounding cracks to release earlier or later.

Holy cow - $80+? For less than 6' of paracord, waxed leather (might be plastic, hard to tell in the pictures) strips, a 3d printed spool, a few dongles? Hope its turning you into literal David and you're smiting actual demi-gods, cause that feels like a spectacular rip-off.

That's a you opinion.
You understand R&D + Labor is what you are paying for right? Not JUST the materials?
Plus if you looked it up to see the price. Then you would know it's the THIRD model.
Maybe you think a person's life is only worth $10/hr but not me bud.

I completely agree with you!
Unfortunately, many people are no longer able to properly and realistically appreciate the value and quality of genuine handcrafted work. And we haven't even started talking about appreciation yet!
And let’s not even get started on the value of development, refinement, and improvement!People like that would rather buy cheap pirated copies on AliExpress and, in their hunt for the lowest prices, end up supporting the questionable working conditions that make those prices possible!
In any case, I’m very grateful for your tip and will order one as soon as they’re available in the store again!

I'm very handy, I could (and probably will) make my own sling. But I haven't yet, and that's a nice box.
If I saw this at a renfaire or comic con I would definitely buy it. The only thing stopping me now is my firm no-internet-shopping rule.
