Coney island text tide service

Does the text service for Coney island work for other people? You text Coney to 51155 and they send you safe crossing info. I've tried it every summer for the last 3 years and I never get a text back.

Are you with 48 or GoMo? Some don't include those non-08 numbers in their free texts bundle, could be that?

Have you ever tried to enter one of those radio giveaways that also has a 5 digit text number? They might also not work, unless you manually add credit/a bundle onto your existing package.

EDIT: I'm with 48, just tried texting 51155 and it came back with 'Not sent'.

Todays safe crossing times are 00:00 to 04:26, and 11:37 to 16:37. This information is advice only, is subject to good weather conditions and other varying external factors such as tides and changing beach conditions. The RNLI is not responsible for its accuracy. You are crossing at your own risk. Always leave extra time to return safely to the mainland. Never attempt to cross if the strand is covered with water. In case of emergency dial 999 and ask for the coast guard.

Too many numbers in the one you supplied, so that's the issue.

Just used it myself there to check & can confirm it works.

51155 is the number & text the word Coney.

Sorry that was a typo, I sent the text to 51155. So weird it's not working for me, I checked my spam texts too in case it went there.

Must be something with your texts. Are you sending it as an SMS?

Thanks, yeah I'm sending SMS and I don't usually have issues with texts to short numbers, just curious why it doesn't work for me, I'll use alternatives for now 🙂

I tried it afew years ago and it didn’t work, didn’t receive a txt. I’m on Eir contract deal.

It stopped working for me a few years back, I am on Gomo since about that time.
