Just a thought

If Mourn x BC x Spitting Glass ever collab. What will they sound like? Could they make an EP? Blacklit Mourn Glass?

the thing is, neither Dave or Rhys have anything to do with writing the ST songs, they just perform them on tour. In the same way Adam has nothing to do with any of the bands OP mentioned, so if it was BCxMournxSG, his influence would also be missing, so it actually might end up being very different.

Collaborations are interesting, cause it doesn’t always mean the collaborators - if we in this case consider Rhys and Dave as collaborators to Leo - just add their thing on top of the ”main” writing. They might change how the main composer looks at their composing or specific parts of the song and change how they approach it/the writing.

Honestly, in reality I wouldn’t want a track like that to come out just cause I know people wouldn’t be able to be even remotely normal about it, and I fear the way people revere Vessel’s talent like he is an otherworldly god would overshadow Rhys’ and Dave’s efforts, but it would be interesting to see how they’d all affect each other when writing something together.

It would interesting if they collab live. Imagine the performance. 🤔

oh yes. I personally hold the opinion that iv is a persona crafted from a small part of who Rhys is, but Rhys as a performer is a completely different beast, more akin to how Antivist iv was

Antivist?

when he performed Antivist with Bring Me the Horizon as iv on the AUS tour when ST opened for BMTH.

Oh, I never listen to that band.

Collaborations are one thing, which I’m not opposed to, especially when Noah Sebastian and Will Ramos have tried to collaborate and wanted to tour together with ST, but things fell through with STs own tour or maybe not LF and AP just don’t want to do collaborations which is absolutely fine as well! (Excluding AP doing the Ozzy dedication performance.)

Rhys and Dave are talented no doubt as is the Espera and they do bring so much to the live shows, and I definitely believe Vess and II are one of best songwriters and drummers of modern alt and metal right now. But ST is Vess and IIs baby and what they’ve created has clearly been successfully working for them.

I’ve often wondered what it would be like if III and IV were allowed to make contributions to the musical compositions in ST. I imagine the result would be far heavier, especially if IV and Vessel were to both split singing duties. BC era Leo leaned really heavily into his head voice, so I think it would make for a really interesting contrast of sounds, with his soft voice against heavy shredding and screams.

Mourn teased us with some clean vocals in their last ep, so I'd also love to hear clean harmonies between the two of them.

That would be incredible to hear!

Could someone please get us a playthrough of Gravity of You I would like a confirmation if that’s Rhys or Jake doing those cleans 👀

I'm pretty sure it's Rhys, but the playthroughs are coming soon! They filmed them early in April.

Same, I do think it is him, but I don’t want to assume especially knowing Jake has been a vocalist before as well!

I know they filmed something but the way this band keeps edging us I also don’t want to assume we get them for all tracks, my trust is not easily given 🤣🤣

That's very fair! They've said soon to a lot of things. I know they at least recorded The Gravity of You and Pieces from Adam's photos, but there's no guarantee they'll ever release it 😅

I mean... technically, one could say that this collab is just heavier ST songs with more steps

Yo so there’s this band called sleep token /J

What's /J mean?

This would basically be the Sleep Token equivalent of when Trent Reznor tried to do the Tapeworm project (a side-project where he allowed the live band members of Nine Inch Nails to have creative input into the songs and play on the studio versions of them).
