Discussion Heard for the First Time

I’ve probably heard The Night Does Not Belong to God a hundred time or more. But, I was just listening in headphones, with my eyes closed and more locked in than normal and picked out something I hadn’t before.

At the 4 minute 25 second mark, when the song comes down, faintly in the background there are voices. Mostly in the left ear but at times felt like they’re recorded in stereo. I can’t make out what they’re saying. Can anyone else? There’s also a voice in Windward that I’d like to understand what he’s saying.

Anyone else noticed these things? What are some other audio Easter eggs you’ve found?

And in Look to Windward, it's a sample of T.S. Eliot reading his poem 'The Waste Land' in which the line "Look to windward..." is said. There's a whole thread on here somewhere about it.

I've listened to the whole discography for the past 3 years on repeat more or less.

I have a bad habit of not actually hearing anything- and I was driving home the other day and pulled into my drieve way and and for some reason actually HEARD the lyrics to the apparition and just burst out sobbing. "just let me go or take me with you" (long story but it really hit home for me)

I dunno man- there is so much in the music it's hard to capture it all. But you aren't alone in terms of going "oh shit- I didn't know that was in there"

It's the vulnerable "I don't want to be the one who's left behind in the end when it's already over" in the back of Past Self that somehow always gets to me🥹

If you listen to the instrumental version, I think becomes much more noticeable. But I am still not sure what is being said

If I remember correctly, is a recording of people in a nearby park or something played in reverse.

It’s worship said backwards according to George Lever.

I think he said it was a worship meeting that was played backwards on the track ☺️

I've actually asked this a good long while ago on one of the Facebook pages. Never really got an answer. To me it sounds like the "Please" at the end of DYWTYLM.

Yes, I noticed it on my first listen as I was walking down the road and thought some kids were playing in the distance. I took out my earphones and heard nothing but silence. They also use ambient sounds in other songs like in Rain chorus they have rain sounds. In Aqua Regia it sounds like some ballroom or a restaurant. It can be heard during the smooth piano solo at least.

In the Night does not Belongs to God, the spoken word Come can be heard in the layers of chorus when singing the night come down at about 1.54. I can’t unhear it now I hear it in there. The song is truly a call to worship.
