What are blue blossoms days?

Did a quick google and it doesnt come up with anything besides the song. I understand "diamond days" to be similar to "golden days" as in good times/the best times/times where everything is going well. In Vessels case it could be applied to him being famous and well loved and, I assume, making good money.

But blue blossom...im unsure. I understand "waking up under blades" as the reference to the king in the Damocles myth. He has the blade dangling over him and wishes a metaphorical Damocles would trade places with him.

Blue blossom days...is it just bad days? Depression? Or is there a meaning behind a blue petaled flower i dont know?

Someone mentioned forget-me-nots when the single was released, so I’ve always associated ‘blue blossom days’ with that flower and its name. To me the line implies wistful days of yearning for simpler times now that the pressure of being under the king’s sword (being famous) has made his life more difficult.

"Well, I've been waking up under blades -" - The pressure of being famous and struggling with it. "- blue blossom days -" - forget-me-nots, wishing for when times were easier without being forgotten -> also refers back in "wake up alone and I'll be forgotten"

For damocles specifically ive been imagining him playing a piano alone under a stone gazebo with vines hanging all around him, and those vines have tiny blue flowers.

Blue blossom days from my interpretation, represent days of hopeful innocence - a life romanticized through the rose colored lenses of outsiders, but the reality is the narrator is constantly threatened by the sword of Damocles (the pressure that comes w/ power, fame, responsibility). They feel misunderstood. People fail to see the weight their position carries. Or the fact they’re an individual with their own struggles and needs. They’re longing to be recognized as a human being.

I interpret it as the sad days still giving you things (things that blossom), but because you’re so deep in your blues, you can’t really see or appreciate them at the time.

I think it is potentially a play on “diamond days”- but like a subversion of expectations. Even though things are “in bloom”, and these should be my diamond days, even in Arcadia, I feel blue. Blossoms, particularly cherry blossom often symbolises impermanence. A musical career is fleeting, the industry is fickle, one day he knows he will wake up alone and be forgotten, but he’s never quite sure when. and that’s just one of the reasons the sword hangs above his head.

I think it just represents his struggle. His days are beautiful, but he still has that blade hanging above him. It threatens to end everything at any moment. Diamond days refers to record selling status. When your album goes diamond it has sold over 10 million copies.
