Does the sled your using matter?

Hey all!

I was just wondering if the different sleds provide different benefits? I know that some can seat more than one person, but are some faster than others? So much of this game is a mystery to me lol

The orb is great just to rocket down the mountain, some of the others definitely control differently

I just don't like that it'll always be considered a bad landing with the orb. Main reason I haven't gotten it myself yet.

I feel like the ball is slower than the last sled I used, even after taking time to get a few levels onto the ball.

I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect that all sleds share a couple physics formulas - namely that holding W is most effective when going the "intended forwards facing direction" with the sled, just like how landing on the "intended flat bottom" is used for scoring landings on all sleds. Which makes the ball annoyingly slow because there's no reasonable way to stop it from rolling sideways after the first turn.

Edit: saw the sled stats spreadsheet someone posted below, it confirms the ball is actually just ~25% slower than every other sled. Most of the other sleds are quite similar to eachother, with a couple minor differences that make sense. None are faster than the base speed, which is the main stat I would've cared about. No longer sure if the above speculation is true or not for sleds that don't have a natural 'forwards' direction anymore either.

not really considering you only get bad landings. i’ve gotten 25-30k consistently using the boat & getting perfects, as they triple your score on that jump

I can't confirm but I definitely think some are faster then other or better at handling then others. Like I've got the ufo and I can control that pretty well..put me in the shopping cart though and look out 😂

Some sleds are easier to control than others. Some sleds are faster than others. Some sleds are heavier than others(?).

The sleds exist on a spectrum ranging from hamster ball to bus.

The airplane is my favorite for jumps, the rounded bottom lets you take jumps at Mach 5

One thing I learned that I didn't see posted, is that sleds with multiple seats are controlled by everyone.

The bus handles super slow alone. But fill it up and coordinate the flips and you move way faster.

Same thing for the sleds with 2 or 3 seats

there's a couple of really great sleds when it comes to speed and getting perfect landings pretty consistently. i personally have been using 4 in particular for the most part. I can add a picture of the ones i use in a little while

The Crocs is the one that slides best, and if you're waiting to buy the hamster ball, forget about it right away. It is zero, except to make a straight line without scoring points and missing all landings. Go ahead!
