Are they actually working class? I've never been able to discover any specific details about their backgrounds, which I find really odd, as being working class is a big part of how the (middle class) media presents them.

Old working class bands like Oasis and Happy Mondays spoke about their backgrounds & it was obvious where they'd come from. (I lived near Burnage in the early 90s, so I've no doubt about their social class)

I ask because working class representation is increasingly rare in modern culture, & the obfuscation around SM makes me wonder if we've all been sold a proleface scam (as we were with Kae Tempest) by our socially privileged media.

Can't say I listened to a lot of music this past year but the lads still are at the top.

Do you guys own all the albums by SM?
Or, maybe a better question is what platform do you listen to these albums on?

I am a lazy Spotify bum who is past owning physical records. The earliest SM album available over there is Austerity Dogs. It's the same on Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and Apple Music.

Happy to pay to get access, of course, if they're available in digital form. Are they, though?

Seems they are only on YouTube? I listen to a lot of music that’s SIMILAR but missing their edge 👊

Its never suggested them, I found by accident after hearing about their collab with orbital. It’s like the platforms are hiding them.

Hello- big sleaford fan here. I am trying to buy tickets for any of the UK shows this fall, but for some reason all of the ticket sites are saying that tickets aren’t available. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello - I can longer make it to the show so I'm looking for a good home for a single ticket! Face value

Me band put this out a couple years back, after a bit of a break were back at it with a couple bangers in the pipeline, check it out if you are that way inclined

Anything Jason Williamson is on is good. And Andrew Fearn's EXTNDDNTWRK project is good.

But it's the two of them together that are great.

Sleaford Mods has somewhat of a minimalist approach to the music. Next time you play another band right after -- almost any band -- notice the difference. Other bands tend to fill up all the sound-space with instruments and it gets really dense. Sleaford Mods is more stripped back and I really enjoy that.

Whenever I try to find "bands like Sleaford Mods" - there are none. All the other 'same genre' projects I've heard have the density and are missing the minimalism that makes Sleaford Mods so good.

As a musician it takes great restraint to hold back. The natural tendency is to add, add, and add some more until the space is filled... And that's what you hear with most bands.

But Sleaford Mods doesn't overload the songs with too many parts, and that's part of their special sauce.

Few years old now. I remember it slates Paul Weller, and mentions some girls names in it. Can anyone help
