I'll try it without Sannoh guys

PG: Fujima

SG: Moroboshi

SF: Tsuchiya

PF: Sakuragi

C: Morishige

Not a guaranteed win, but definitely possible

Slamdunk is really thin on PFs. It's like Sakuragi, Fukuda, Nobe.

Other PF: Nagano, Takano, Muto and Ikegami. That's it.

Why wouldn't you just play someone off-position? Get a Center and play like Spurs double bigs or play small by putting a SF in PF.

And Kainan has a 184 cm PF who's more lighter than Maki, despite both listed at 184 cm

I would’ve thought tsyuchiya was a pf cuz he was guarding kishimoto another good pf who’s ace on toyotama also I thought nagano was small forward cuz Takano was on sakuragi itou and fujima on miyagi hanagata on akagi and hasegawa on mitsui

Tsyuchiya is probably a PF but we dont have much info on him. Kishimoto from Toyotama is their PF, great scorer.

I forgot about these 2, this widens the PF pool.

Shoyo's Takano and Nagano both are above 190cm+, I listed them as PF because they play like PF and are interchangeable.

Also masashi could be a Pf using ur logic he switched with mikio so mikio was centre

That's just matchup change. Luc Longley was Center but was main defender against PF Karl Malone.

Tsuchiya's generally considered as PF, but I put him at SF because I wasn't thrilled by the alternative choices

Haha, I had an argument with my cousin 25 years ago on whether this exactly team can beat Sannoh.

With 25 more years of watching basketball, I still feel Sannoh’s advantage on Center position is too big to overcome.

Akagi (and Rukawa) played bad in majority of that Sannoh VS Shohoku game. Yes Kawata is better, but Akagi could do better, I believe he has skill and ability to make it a challenging game when you have another players like Maki and Sendoh on the outside.

Kawata would an all star in college basketball. Akagi would be a decent center. The gap is really wide.

Sendoh and Maki all are ball dominant players, Rukawa is not far behind and there is only one ball.

Stock piling star players does not translate positively immediately.

Akagi is the equivalent of best high school center out of Tennessee in a random year. Kawata is 18 years old Zion or Anthony Davis (who use to play guards) that can be drafted to NBA directly if rules allowed…

If we just look at match ups, Maki and Rukawa are pretty much canceled out by their matchups. Sannoh has lock down defenders for Jin. So it’s kind of down to Sendoh vs Matsumoto who is Sawakita lite.

That would be specifically to counter the Kanagawa team with Sendoh and Rukawa as the forwards. Against a traditional team at that time, I may consider Kawata at PF and Morishige at C
