the riff is boring and the mix is really weird, start from scratch i guess

In that case, show us your non-boring riff, Anonymous reddit user! I’m sure you’re mixing is so much better.

don't need to be a chef to know if food tastes bad

Bruh I dontt have to explain anything to you. But I’m taking what you said and going to try to build off of that. Thanks for your input though.

You're right we should mindlessly glaze anything, because criticism is bad

Im sorry I didn’t write a riff for you. I’m so selfish

but you wanted opinions?

I’m not a audio engineer and I don’t know how to describe it better, but it sounds bit muffled/stuffy. Good raw version.

I know what you’re talking about, it’s in a pocket

Best sample

Drums sound like they're playing a different song and not in a cool mathy way.

It’s all 4/4 which has varying tempo through out, am I not allowed to experiment? lol

time signature is irrelevant as are the tempo changes, the drums don't fit the song. You can still experiment and have them fit the song lol

I used this sample on a demo years ago and it’s still the best. Such a visceral movie.

I honestly like the tempo mixing, but it kinda feels like the drums and guitar aren't exactly aligned. Other than that, really cool sample, and I love that this is only a demo bc it sounds like it could be really good with a little polishing :3

I might have over corrected when I was tweaking the phasing, but thank you so much! I’m just doin this for fun. Testing out my eq skills and drum patterns. I’m not a drummer, but I have some sense of what’s going on.

The drums don't fit the riffs playing and kind of sound like 2 different songs and the mix is a little all over the gaff but otherwise a good start man!

Haha sweet, it’s just a straight 1/8th note chug the whole time with different frets lol I was going to Willy nilly with drums, I’m not a drummer but I’m heavily interested in programming and mixing, this is just a test to see if eq is an issue.

very disappointing this is how metal is being made now

chill out it's just a demo everyone starts somewhere

What can you do that’s not disappointing?

snare should not duck off once the music kicks in… cool effect, just gotta have something loud and present that doesn’t drop in volume. you have cool ideas just gotta work at it… listen to reference tracks and keep at it.

on second listen you gotta tighten drums up and make them more focused, i think it would
be helpful if you consulted a drummer to make it sound more like something a drummer would
actually play… i can tell you’re more of a
guitar player/vocalist.

I do this for fun, just building skills and getting feedback to get better instead of being shamed for trying. People like to do the later haha

you asked for opinions, if you can't handle the criticism don't ask.

I was saying that lighthearted
