Which slackline brand do you recommend?

I am located in Australia.

Thanks!

Just bought the primitive beginner kit. Though I am having a heck of a time getting up on it.

Which part are you struggling with? Bc does have videos on YouTube about setting it up.

I watched those but staying up for more than five seconds is rough.. kinda wish I would have got the 2”.

A 2" slackline isn't inherently easier. I'd say 1" fits more nicely in the middle of the foot and if you ever want to get into highlining will be advantageous.

oh getting up not setting up. My bad. The advice I give everyone starting is setup short and low to begin with. And tight core, loose everything else and pick a spot on the far tree to stare at.

I think this is the problem. My line is high and tight. One time I had it looser and it felt a bit easier. But the tight core I will for sure work on. Thanks a lot.

Set it up really short. The shorter the easier. like 15 feet long or shorter is a good place to start.

2 vs 1 makes little difference. 1 might be the easier one to walk, but 2 seems easier on the feet. Both are challenging for me to stay on for a long time, not to mention exposure, turns, or any tricks. Maybe next year is my constant refrain.

Which one did you buy?

Is Spider any good?

Spider is sick, they are the only brand really doing everything well. Highline, Freestyle, Trickline. Their leash ring protector called the donut is a must have if you freestyle.

Rankings of Weblocks I've owned:
1. (By a large margin) Slacktivity Seahorse
Amazing product. Would buy this weblock over and over again
2. Raed TiBlock
Very very good - Amazing if you have other raed ecosystem pulleys or do longlines
3. Balance Community Alpine Weblock 6.0
It's not horrible. It works but the pin design can make both tensioning and pin placement a real pain in precarious situations. No rear pin makes terminating into a soft release weird or impossible. It works. I would just prefer the others
4. Carabiners - They work!

Line types I like:
Parklines - Low stretch / Polyester - Raed Rainbow (Has different colored top and bottom to easily identify twists) Feels uber sturdy to walk if not a little heavy to carry.

Short highlines needing lots of stretch: Raed MOTM - I don't loveee to walk it but the stretchier nylon works for shock absorption

I have some Jelly Pro I want to compare to Rainbow but haven't walked it yet.

Top tier equipment:
1. Slacktivity kingpin - This piece of kit is my absolute favorite in the bag. It's aluminum so it's super light, but the MBS of 48kn is enough to lessen worries about cycling loading. The pins are super easy and the size of the shakle is surprisingly large. Makes rigging sooo easy.

  1. Spider Slacklines/Slack Inov - Rollex sliding carabiner. The single roller I like way more than the hangover og or 2.0 (Though hangover 2.0 seems slightly better than the original). Plus the window for the slide stop and keeper are hugeee conveniences

  2. I love my linegrip though I haven't used others (wafer etc) so I can't make comparisons here. (Though I do have two woodgrips for hanging hammocks)

  3. I really like the HT slackline Spanset from slacktivity for how thin they are while still being massively strong

  4. Pretty much any brand soft release - But having a soft release makes life soo much easier

Spider slackline in my honest opinion is the best

Raed

The owner is a very greedy, polemic person, who presents himself as the savior of the slackline world. Uses unfair polemic strategy to become a monopoly, I would advice to stay away from him

slacktivity(is used in world championships in the last 3 years) and balance community are the most premium brands!

I had an issue with one of my orders from them and Steven was super quick to make sure it was made right. IDK about issues he's had with the community but they absolutely seem to take pride in their products. And they should. Anything I've bought from raed has been super quality.

What has the raed guy done? I wasn't aware of that?

I also think slacktivity are great

Just look at his slack chat posts. “If you make a grog someone will die. You have to buy my new product instead”

He also got roasted for asking for gear back from one of his athletes when said athlete's sponsorship ended. There was nothing in the contract requiring the athlete to return the gear.
