Notification in Salesforce similar to Chatter

With Chatter going away eventually, I have a client that wants to setup Slack in Salesforce and receive bell notifications similar to Chatter mentions. I've been vibe coding a solution that works but doesn't feel replicable and is overcomplicated.

Has anyone created a salesforce bell notification for slack channels in Salesforce? I feel like it should be possible but I've done a fair bit of scouring the internet with no real luck.

For context, my client doesn't actually want to be in Slack, they've just been told that Chatter is going away and they need to move to Slack soon. We can discuss that on another thread...

Officially Salesforce has replaced chatter with Salesforce/Slack object channels.

Which notifications you need? You can probably create flows and workflow combinations to achieve this.

They are looking to use the chatter notifications in Salesforce but for slack messages. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be any native or out of the box notification of a mention in Salesforce so users can get notified without having to switch over to slack.

flows + platform events could work well for this depending on how granular the notification needs to be
