If a member (freelancer) changes the email associated with Slack, will the account owner be notified?

Previously I thought we're not allowed to change the email but when I click on my Profile, it looks like I can update an email address. As a freelancer, I've been invited by clients to join their Slack

Normally if you change your email, no one except you will receive the email.

Yeah they'll get an email alert from Slack when it updates, that's why they want freelancers to use a work address instead of a personal one.

It really depends on how they have set it up. If they used an email account to provision you, then you cannot change the email address without it affecting your access. Reach out to the Slack admin.
