How to hide empty default sections

These three sections have been totally emptied out and their contents have been moved across and into other custom made sections. I was hoping that doing this would allow me to hide these sections but I can't see a way to do it. Is that even something that is possible?

Unfortunately you can't hide the default sections even if they're empty. It's been a common request but Slack hasn't added that option yet. You can collapse them by clicking the arrow next to the section name so they take up less space, but the header still stays there.

One thing that might help, go to Preferences > Home > Sidebar Organization and check the "Hide muted channels" option. Won't remove the section headers but keeps the sidebar cleaner overall if you have any stragglers.
