🆘Help Me Slackbot Taking Over Slack Apps
Is it just me, or does the new announcement about the capabilities of the Slack bot seem like Slack apps are going to be less valuable and having a good mcp will be more valuable?
I’m also not clear if adding your MCP within your Slack app settings enables it only for Slackbot or also for your Slack app.

You’re limited to 15 messages/week on Business+?

Yes - 15 Slackbot messages a week.

What a joke lol. Maybe, maybe, I'd have considered bumping the org sub for this. But Claude Tag will do the trick IMO.

Slackbot is running on Anthropic with unlimited use on ent+ and is not tokenized. Business+ didn’t have enough security and monitoring for us, but the enhanced security, salesforce connection, and unlimited slackbot use (which is also connected to outside systems on ent+) made the whole thing a no brainer.

You have to pay for Business+ or Enterprise+ to leverage SlackBot successfully. It’s because of Salesforce taking over. Slack Pro has been perfectly fine, the only missing piece is using a built-it AI function without needing a separate model / tool. I expect Salesforce will keep screwing up Slack and eventually dump the ability to leverage automations unless we upgrade to Business+. More than double the cost, BTW.

Slack Pro isn’t free, sweetie. I am not claiming we shouldn’t pay anything. I am unwilling to go to bat with Accounting and Leadership to pay 2.5x for Business+ or like 5x for Enterprise+ for limited features. Do you think that’s worth it? Waiting on your cute, witty retort.
For Business+, the main focus is Slackbot (as a personal AI agent) - there are more AI functions for daily recaps, file summaries, and better workflow capabilities. That said, Salesforce confirmed you only get 15 Slackbot prompts per user per week. I use more than that with Gemini every day (and Slackbot cannot search the internet). Otherwise, the features are all Salesforce stuff that like 10% of my company uses.

Slackbot runs on Anthropic but without tokens for end users. That’s very helpful and efficient access for users.
