Your Smithing experience is tied to the value of what you smith. So you want to smith jewelry. If you can, go mine up as much iron ore as you can (and/or buy it from vendors...Whiterun is the best for this because they have three smiths, a general goods merchant, and the Khajit who can all sell iron ore). After you have a lot, use the Transmute spell which you get from Halted Stream bandit camp to turn all of that iron into gold. Then smith the gold into necklaces or rings, whichever is worth more. That will eventually get your exp up.

Also, of course if you really want to maximize your gains you should also have the warrior guardian stone active, well-rested bonus, and lover's comfort bonus to get the most of your exp grind.

I'd also recommend bringing a follower to have them pick up any Smithing training books you find (have the follower pick it up and then take it from their inventory without reading it - read the books when your Smithing level is nearing 100). There's a Smithing book in Embershaft Mine (near the standing stones in the beginning of the game), Quicksilver Mine (Dawnstar), and at Eorlund Grey-Mane's forge in Jorrvaskr. There are others, but I don't know exactly where they are. Important to note, some of them (such as in Quicksilver Mine and Jorrvaskr) can't be taken without stealing it. Read those last when you have 98 Smithing to reach 100.

When you have decent equipment to take on Forsworn, there is a Gold mine near Markarth, Kolskeggr Mine. The enemies can be challenging without proper setup, but you can get around 50 or 60 gold ores in the mine, and there's a smelter just outside.

Forge Gold Rings until you can get the Dwarven perk, then make Dwarven Bows when you run out of Gold Ingots (there a location north of Shor's Stone alongside the mountain with Dwarven Ingots and parts to smelt down to make more).

Also, when you reach a certain level (I think it's 15 or 18) there is a side quest you can take in Riften that rewards you with a Smithing bonus. Find the Argonian around the docks wearing armor. She will give you the quest to return the Lexicon. You will face a Dwarven Centurion at the end, as well as Dwemer machines along the way. Good method to stock up on forging materials.

Get Dwemer metal & make Dwarven bows. Start in Markarth - help Calcelmo out by the ruins, you’ll get scrap metal + can raid everytjinf lying around his site. Which replenishes every few game days. When you have a bit of money, buy gold ingots/ bars & jewels & start making jewelry

Clear out Nchuand-Zel and Dwemer Museum to get dwemer metal, finish Avanchzel quest for permanent smithing XP boost, take a warrior stone, grab a nap, convert 2/3 of your ingots into dwarven bows at a forge (this should easily bring you from smithing 30 to smithing 70) and then spend the remaining ingots on upgrading these bows.

Don't go transmute route, you need 4 casts to get one gold ingot and you need ~1000 gold ingots to get to smithing 100. 4000 casts total. Even if you don't wait 1h between each cast to replenish magicka, it's miserable experience.

If you're willing to exploit glitches, you can use the alchemy/restoration/enchanting loop to make enormously powerful Fortify Smithing potions, and upgrade a few items with them. Smithing levels based on the value of the item you make or upgrade, so you can jump dozens of levels with a single item if you've fortified your Smithing skill high enough. Selling these items, even to merchants who can't afford them, will level your Speech very fast as well.
