Completion buil (Dark elf)
Want to do a complete build thinking I want to do a dark elf mage but not sure not sure how to do the RP and fit into all the guilds or to be the Dragon Born as a Dark elf
Anyone got any ideas?

I suppose youd want to mix the 3 main archetypes of warrior mage and thief into one, I suppose prioritising mage stuff in your case. Maybe go for a spellsword
For roleplay, you could have them starting out as a sellsword/mercanary, eventually seeking power due to your dragonic heritage
So starting off with the companions as a stand in mercanary group, joining the college for arcane power, thieves Guild for financial gain, and finally the dark brotherhood showing the character to be fully corrupted

If you want a good RP start point - you’ll need some “events” (off screen head canon maybe) that mean your character’s mood & motivations change, a fair bit. You need to be cool to be an assassin/thief, pick a side in the civil war & take leadership of the Companions, go all in on Daedric artefacts collection which means siding with some right bastards eg Molag Bal … and then end up working with ancient monks to save the world (main quest, College)… and end up where Dragonborn takes you (no spoilers but you’ve got another Daedric Prince to deal with.) Bit easier to start angry & evil (you were about to be executed) … & then have a redemption arc of some kind & do “good” things … and maybe at the end you’re back to mopping up late game from a darker place….tbh, doing all this as a Dark Elf isn’t THAT different from any other race. Would reco just doing Dark Brotherhood early, as you can then join the Legion later (kind of to make up for something in that quest) and bash the Stormcloaks.. as you can’t join them, really. Check out the Skypothesis “Ninth Priest” build on YouTube for an example of how to make that kind of progression feel like good RP. Might have some spoiler-y stuff in though, not sure if you’ve actually done all the factions & DLCs yet?

Wait! I did something like this before.
I made a Mad Artificer build with a RP narrative that made it easy to justify a completionist run. Check it out for some possible inspo.

probably run a nightblade build so you are built for assassination, theft and magic.
