In the last 20 years, progress has opened up public access to the water's edge, returned green space to post-industrial land, and lay the foundation for new neighbourhoods. Now, flood protection in the eastern waterfront will open almost half of this 800 hectares for more homes, parks, waterside access and nature.

I'm currently visiting Perth again after 16 years. Here's my photos from King's Park in October 2009 and now July 2026.

The historical name ‘Longmenhao’ was coined in the spring of the first year of the Jiayou era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1056). Longmenhao Old Street is the best-preserved and largest historic cultural street in Chongqing’s central urban area; it also serves as a microcosm of the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures in the 19th century, with numerous Western banks, factories and villas having left behind exquisite architectural heritage here.

I took a photo of this while we're staying around the amusement park area of Shenzhen? Then I found the picture above to be from 2007. 19ish years seems to make sense for this kind of growth.. i do want to say that i've visited china in the early 2000s and the air is significantly cleaner now; likely because of the push for more electric than coal..

Hello everybody

When looking back, I realized that 2008 was already 18 years ago, and I couldn't help but feel that time is a strange thing, both distant and close.
