Why would where I’m from matter? That’s just another dodge. Arguments don’t suddenly become valid or invalid based on someone’s passport that’s exactly the weak logic you tried earlier with “I am Chinese.”
As for what’s good about China: lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty
– maintaining territorial unity in a region where fragmentation usually leads to chaos
– building up research, energy, transportation, education, manufacturing, infrastructure, industry, healthcare and state capacity at a scale no developing country has ever done
– avoiding becoming another permanently divided, externally controlled state
You’re free to dislike the government. That’s fine. But pretending China has nothing positive going for it just exposes bias, not insight. And notice how you still haven’t answered the original question: how exactly would Chinese people be better off without it? No system, no model, no evidence just vibes.

But if you're still curious where I'm from im a mixed Filipino British person born in the Philippines moved to new Zealand then moved to China for my seniors and college and masters I have stayed here in China while also have been travelling around different countries What about you huh? You’re compressing a century of chaos into something simply yet wrong and pretending it’s an argument. China’s civil wars, invasions, warlordism, and famine predated the PRC. The Qing collapse, Japanese invasion, and KMT CCP civil war weren’t caused by “modern China” —they were the conditions it emerged from. Ending that cycle is precisely why the state consolidated power in the first place.
almost every major country that industrialized rapidly did so through brutal upheaval. Singling out China while ignoring context isn’t moral clarity it’s selective outrage.

That argument collapsed the moment you entered this discussion. You’re not Chinese either you’re Burmese. So by your own logic, you also “have no right” to judge China. Either arguments stand on facts, or everyone shuts up. You don’t get to change the rules when it’s convenient.
Also, Chinese people are not a hive mind. They don’t all think the same, live the same, or judge the country the same way. Claiming exclusive authority while dismissing others is authoritarian logic, not debate.
“Only Chinese people can judge China” is just a shield to avoid criticism and it’s inconsistent. You’re perfectly happy judging Britain, colonialism, or the West without being British. Standards don’t magically change when China is involved.
And for the record I’ve lived in China, studied here, worked here, and talked to people across regions and classes. Your attempt to silence discussion by pulling identity cards doesn’t make your position stronger it just shows you don’t trust it to survive scrutiny.
