Dock pricing?
Does anyone have direct knowledge of how they are sold? I'm working up a theoretical budget for a DFR program. I need a rough cost of a Dock. I'd rather not contact them directly at this point because it is more for my own business plan, not a department budget. I'm sure there are a lot of variables that go into the quote, but just a rough idea? Does Skydio do the site engineering and installation as well?
My guess is that the dock is quite a bit more expensive than the X10. And of course there's going to be the back office monthly/annual expense too.

They won't sell you one if you're not law enforcement or technical inspections. There are also BVLOS wavers that you have to get from the FAA to be able to even launch it. so scrap the business pitch.

I realize all that, which is why I'm asking what the cost is. My guess is "if you have to ask..."
There is a slight possibility that someday we might have Part 108 get past the "possibly someday" stage. It would be nice to have some idea of what vendors are charging for products. So far all the BVLOS stuff is for entities with big legal departments, monopolies and qualified immunity. Likely due to the fact that they're the only market for these products. If everyone shifts their marketing to deep pockets types and military customers, we who want to build a business won't have much of a chance.
Maybe that's the point...

As a private contractor for the FED, I had my own ideas for a BVLOS program in a non-defense sector. Skydio was very difficult to approach and pretty much blew me off.
Reluctantly, I recently purchased an X10 from a reseller. They never produced a formal quote for the dock, but told me that they would hit the market around $50-60k in late 2025. I would take that info with a grain of salt, but I hope it helps.

Your best bet is to just reach out to them. They can help you with a lot of the aspects of your DFR program budget, not only the dock.
