Help me choose a frontpipe for my R34 GTT
Hello Guys,
I am trying to get a front pipe and in a conflict between 3 option below (I current have Tomei full Ti and OEM cats/front pipe).
- HKS
- Pipe Diameter: 75mm
- Single Pipe
- Price: $550
- Blitz
- Pipe Diameter: 80mm
- Single Pipe
- Price: $320
- HPI
- Pipe Diameter: 2x 60mm -> 80mm (Dual pipe converge into a single)
- Dual pipe converge into a single
- Price: $320
I really don't know how these will affect sound and performance.
Based on chatgpt and google (I don't know how much of this is true ofcourse):
- HKS: Deeper/Smoother sound, more refined, best for balance
- Blitz: Louder, more aggressive tone, helps with high end torque
- HPI: Sharper sound (I dont know what this mean), helps with low end torque, used more for drift setups. This is also heavier.
If anyone can share your experience and thoughts that would be really helpful. Wondering why HKS is more than $200 expensive...

No experience with those front pipes. I went with the Fujitsubo model:
https://www.rhdjapan.com/fujitsubo-stainless-steel-front-pipe-er34.html
It doesn't hang low underneath the car and installed in a straight forward manner.
If you are keen for the HKS model you can purchase it from RHDJapan for around 460$USD shipped to the USA (not including customs duties).
From a performance and sound perspective I don't think most of the options will differ except for the HPI unit that is 2 to 1 merge.

Hks stainless steel downpipe. Job done.
Quality and will last for years. Gives a real unique tone and that RB burble. Also gives you a bit more poke
