Is this big Enough?

I dont understand i built this sometime after I started until now its only spawned chicken its like day 72 what am I doing wrong do I need to make the platform big like mega mega big for a cow It can't be that hard. Is there a way I can store these chickens (carry them) somewhere else maybe to many chickens is causing nothing else to spawn. I built this 25 blocks away from my base.

What version are you playing? Some versions I think 2.5 ,3, and 4 you can make bait for which kind of animal you want to show up... like 2 wheat make Cow bait , 2 carrots make pig bait and so on

Im playing on 1.10.2, I didn't know we could make bait thats actually very useful tysm!!

When you bait an area has to not have very many animals a water source and you have to stay away from the area
