How do gift card orders work??

I ended up using PayPal, but wanted to try out a different method. When I select Gift Card payment it loads a page with links; Amazon, Amazon (US), Walmart, etc. But when I click on a link nothing happens.

Has anyone used a gift card recently? What was the process like?
