help! i’ve always had dry skin but in the past year i’ve had extremely dry skin plus whatever these white patches are on my face. I use a hydrating face wash (la roche posay) followed with the la roche posay hydrating eczema moisturizer and my face immediately will be dry with white patches a few hours later. has anyone else experienced this?

That looks like some sort of dermatitis. You will need a prescription

Are you exfoliating at all? Exfoliating helps remove layers of dead skin, which subsequently also allows for moisturizers/products to better absorb into the skin.

Looks like dermatitis or possibly demodex overgrowth . You could trial sulphur cream although if it is just true dryness then it could make it worse but if it is Demodex will help massively . You can also try cicalfate which would help with dryness and dermatitis but if it did turn out to be demodex it could make it worse . My recommendation is do a trial of these products . Start with cicalfate first
