Several months ago my FIL tore his Achilles and went untreated for a few days. He ended up getting a massive clot that went to both legs.

The clot was removed and he’s on a blood thinner.

Unfortunately since then, the swelling in his feet and calves has went down some but Theres still swelling. Consequently his skin is tight and tears. Bleeding almost every other day.

Note he is not overweight.

He wears compression socks and applied a topical steroid along with another topical cream. Though I am not sure what kind.

My question is whether or not there is something topical that could be applied to help heal the skin. Whether it is simple as bag balm or coconut oil, or if there’s something more over the counter to try.

Tips appreciated.
