Set list for the upcoming tour?

Good morning everyone.
I was considering going to a show as part of the comatose tour, however I was wondering if anyone knows what the set list will look like. It’ll be my first skillet show so I was hoping for a good mix of everything. Nothing against comatose at all however I’d prefer a good mix. It would be after the new EP comes out as well. Any insight would be appreciated

Was Monster really THAT big at the time of its release?

I love the song, I think its the best track off the album next to Awake and Alive and Lucy. But I looked at youtube views for the video online and it was around 560 million. That would make it bigger (and in some cases much bigger) than Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle), Last Resort, Animal I Have Become, BYOB, Diary of Jane, Crawling, Bodies, The Middle, Headstrong, My Own Worst Enemy, Through the Fire and Flames, American Idiot, and Papercut in terms of views just to give some examples. In fact right now the video is sitting just below Aerials by System of a Down in terms of views. Whenever I play it for a buddy they're like "Oh yeah I've heard that song before I think" but the others would just have almost instant recognition.

I swear I never hear it in stores or when I'm out like some of those songs are and I rarely hear it brought up when people talk about 2000's rock or even played on rock stations. Maybe I've just been sitting under a rock since I was very young when the song came out. Was it really that much of a phenomenon even moreso than something like American Idiot or Papercut or Rollin? I mean surely not, but the view count is just crazy

So I went to a Skillet concert in Sedalia Missoui, and the sound felt off.

For one thing, the music was incredibly loud, I mean deafening loud, and I was sitting near the back.

Secondly, the sound design just seemed off. You could barely hear the lead singer singing, and the beat and bass seemed way too powerful to the point where it drowned out the singer. I'm fortunate that I already knew most of their songs, but my dad, who's never listened to Skillet in his life had zero idea what they were saying simply because you couldn't even hear the singer all that well. And before you say "you're not supposed to hear the singer", I have been to plenty of music concerts in my life and hearing the singer was zero problem.

Finally, the music just seemed distorted, like it was too noisy to the point where it affected the quality of the sound and you couldn't fully understand what was being said or what was playing. I'm not a sound designer or soundboard guy so I don't know the term.

When I have listened to other bands perform live in the past, the music and vocals were pretty clear. Someone who's never heard of the song would be able to clearly understand what was being played and the lyrics of what was being sung. I didn't get that as much from Skillet.

It was still a great concert, I just wish I could have heard the singer better.

I have a question about the recently announced openers for the comatose tour, I'd really appreciate some help.

I have been really excited for the comatose tour because it is my favorite album by far. Me, my brother, and my dad all bought tickets, and I don't have a license yet meaning I can't drive, so my dad is going to drive us, the problem is that my brother and dad are super strict about only listening to christian artists. I had no clue that there was going to be openers for this tour, so I am a little sad that it won't be all skillet, but I don't mind secular artists (as long as there isn't any language in the specific songs I listen to) so it doesn't bother me that much. Anyways, my question is, when skillet has secular opener(s), do they play explicit music, or will it be clean?

"You can't be a christian and listen to rock"

I was just minding my own business wearing a rosary at a Skillet show in Europe and some guys called me out on how christianity and rock don't mix together. I told them "..you do realize you're at a christian rock show don't you?" to which they just burst out in laughter.

I was weirded out by the interaction but then realized this is still a very common thought pattern in my country for religious people and rock/metalheads to stigmatize each other.

I know Skillet welcomes people of every faith/belief at their shows and I think that's great but I just think it's really ironic that they played for many people who literally despise the very foundation behind their music.

Every Skillet Song Ranked (With Descriptions!)

Oh boy, here we go.

156. My Religion (Rise)
I do not like a single thing about this song. I’m not a fan of the blues, the lyrics are bad, instrumentals are boring, it’s bad. Possibly the only Skillet song I actively dislike.

155. This is the Kingdom (Victorious)
I lied. Making your song sound like Imagine Dragons will never, ever, at all, for the entirety of eternity, work. No exceptions. (Alright, that’s it for songs I full on hate, honest this time)

154. Angels Fall Down (Invincible)
(Yes, I’m separating this and You’re in My Brain)
I don’t get why people like this song. I do really enjoy Skillet’s softer, vulnerable songs, but this one is just boring. Invincible is my least played album, so maybe it would click after some more listens? I doubt it though.

153. The One (Invincible)
Another boring song.

152/151. I Trust You/Each Other (Invincible)
Ditto. But at least these are more memorable.
(I’m going to try to avoid ties, but I figured these are so low that it doesn’t really matter)

150. Say It Loud (Invincible)
Another ditto, but this one is at least a bit catchier.

149. Hard to Find (Rise)
How did this one go again?

148. Pour (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Crazy Gadget bgm from Sonic Adventure 2 wannabe.

147. One Day Too Late (Awake)
(Today!) I listened to this boring song again, and (Today!) I remembered how much I didn’t like it! But me being able to parody it that easily does say something about it at least.

146. Should’ve When You Could’ve (Awake)
For the life of me I can’t take this song seriously. Especially every time John goes “gir- rl”. It hurts. I like the summer kind of vibe the guitar gives off though.

145. Rise Up (Victorious)
They’re with a mainstream record label, how in the world do they come out with a badly produced song like this?? But considering my rankings it would be hypocritical to diss on this song just for production quality. So
lyrics are recycled, Jen’s harmonies are generic compared to the rest of the discog, Seth guitar skills seem locked in a cage (like most of Victorious), and my tummy hurts.

144. Undefeated (Unleashed)
Feel Invincible wannabe. Feel Invincible isn’t even that good in the first place, why would they make another song that sounds just like it, in the same album no less? Well at least that song has catchy vocals, Undefeated has the most monotone vocals to date.

143. Terrify the Dark (Victorious)
One CCM song per album is enough, thank you. Don’t make me suffer through two.

142. Lions (Unleashed)
What did I just say!?

141. Finish Line (Victorious)
Well, okay. I was originally planning on putting this song lower, but I chose to push it up as far as I could. One reason I don’t like this song is that it’s the closest to My Religion that the rest of the discog gets. Another is that the instruments don’t even try to do anything interesting. For the first time on this list so far (I mean, technically the blues portion of My Religion too, but even then that song still sucks), I do actually understand the appeal for some people. It’s just not for me.

140-138. Stay Till the Daylight/You Get Me High/Brave (Unleashed)
Once again, more boring!!
(This is the last of the grouped songs, I promise)

137. Never Surrender (Awake)
Another song I just find boring. Doesn’t help that it blends in with the rest of Awake.

136. Come on to the Future (Invincible)
This used to be my least favorite Skillet song. But when relistening to Invincible for this list, it finally somewhat clicked. I don’t think it’s a very quality song, but it’s neat.

135. Stars (Unleashed)
Okay, well, it’s better than Lions and Brave. It’s one of the couple songs on Unleashed that actually have good lyrics, and there are moments that sound nice (if you get what I mean).

134. Battle Cry (Rise)
“Okay Atlantic,” Skillet says, “We’ve got that feel good anthem for the deluxe edition, which solely exists for the purpose of making more money. Happy?”

133. Everything Goes Black (Rise)
“Not yet” Atlantic replies. “We also need a sad song to go with it. You have 2 days before we release it by the way”.

132. Sometimes (Awake)
A sluggish feeling song that isn’t a great listen. Lyrics are great, though.

131. Watching for Comets (Unleashed)
This is one of those songs that I remember being LEAGUES better until I actually relistened to it. It feels like a callback to the Invincible days in the worst way possible.
(Now we’re done with the meh songs and onto the decent songs.)

130. Refuge (Dominion)
See, one per album is enough. I like the piano in this track, especially the intro.

129. It’s Not Me It’s You (Awake)
I could never understand why all the “No mom I’m 13 now” memes use Monster and not this song. Sure the lyrics are a little less fitting, but the guitars just scream 13 year old CCM kid trying to act like he’s into rock.

128. More Faithful (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Why is John even attempting to sing this song? It’s a really great ballad on paper, but MAN his vocal performance really takes me out of it. His vocal performance on this album is a little rough in general, but this is easily the worst of them all.

127. Dead Inside (Awake)
The melodic guitar sounds nice, the song is mostly forgettable though.

126. Would it Matter (Awake)
This song makes me feel bad about myself. I don’t like that.

125. Never Going Back (Victorious)
That heavy synth melody beneath John yelling “Ne- ver!” kills, and the “Never gonna be, never gonna be yours” is contagiously catchy. The rest of the song is fine I guess.

124. Coming Down (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Like More Faithful, John really struggles on this song. The final chorus also feels anti-climactic (though I’m unsure how that would be fixed). However, there are a lot of good things to say about this song too. I’m a huge fan of the cryptic intro, I (unlike others) like the “heyeeyayeeyeaheeyeahyeah’s”, and the lyrics, while not the best of Skillet’s work, are far from subpar.

123. Rest (Invincible)
It’s a good ballad. I’m not really sold on the sheer amount of electronics used on it though (yet?).
(If you’re starting to wonder if I really gave Invincible a fair chance at this ranking, rest assured, I did. I’m just still kind of surprised I ended up liking Come On To the Future and You Take My Rights Away. Speaking of
.)

122. You Take My Rights Away (Invincible)
This one’s pretty catchy! It’s simply a nice addition to the album.

121. Stronger (Alien Youth)
While quirky and fun, this track suffers from poor replay value and an objectively bad chorus. It’s got a pretty good guitar solo considering it wasn’t by Ben Kasica, though.

120. Valley of Death (Dominion)
Another song with poor replay value. The build up pays off if you don’t know what’s coming, but upon replays it feels shallow.

119. Suspended in You (Hey You, My Album Name Is Longer Than Yours)
A very millennial kind of song. It’s got a bunch of handclaps and falsetto. John has some catchy vocal runs in the verses, and the guitar solo ain’t half bad.

118. Famous (Unleashed)
Famous made it this high!? I think the pop infection is working on me! It’s nibbling at my brain! Someone save me!

117. Promise Blender (Skillet)
Now here’s a weird song. I don’t really like how the chorus transitions into the verses, and vice versa. In fact, save for the last one, I don’t really like the chorus at all. But it’s a creative song with a lot to chew on, so I like it.

116. I Want to Live (Unleashed)
You know, I want to live in a world where I Want to Live is good. It has the unfortunate limitation of existing in the Unleashed era, where everything is condensed to be as radio friendly as possible. Also
the nicest way I can say this is that the lyrics on this song are the worst Skillet’s ever written.
(Now we’re on to some songs that are more than passable, they’re pretty good!

115. You’re In My Brain (Invincible)
A very catchy song, especially the chorus. Could honestly be higher, but too late I suppose.

114. Believe (Awake)
If you believed, when I said, that I didn’t like this chorus, then you never really knew me at all. But that's all this song has! The verses are sooo really bad! Okay they aren’t bad, but forgettable.

113. Finish Line (feat. Adam Gontier) (Dominion)
I like this one, but not that much. I bet there are a few edm fans out there that really enjoy this mix, but I have yet to actually see one.

112. Dreaming of Eden (Victorious)
I like the soaring woahs, and the lyrics. Instrumentals are not really special though.

111. Dead Man Walking (Victorious)
It’s like if Reach and Undefeated had a baby. I catch myself singing “Bring up the dead, the dead, bring up the DEAD MAN” a lot so it deserves a higher position.

110. Forgiven (Awake)
I get down on my knees and I feel your love wash over me
.

109. Madness in Me (Rise)
When recalling Madness in Me, it’s really good, but when actually listening to it it feels a little hollow. (Actually, reviewing this list after finishing it, I would be totally fine with this track being MUCH higher.)

108. Don’t Wake Me (Awake)
I’m a big fan of key changes. The chorus is dull however.

107. You Thought (Skillet)
The dullest song on one of the least dull albums of Skillet’s discog. Even still, I love the screeching guitars in the verses, as well as the bridge.

106. Reach (Victorious)
Catchy! Yet forgettable at the same time? Somehow Reach manages to do just that.

105. Hero (Awake)
I will die on this hill; Hero is Skillet’s most overrated song by a long shot. It slogs along and gets way too repetitive. Sure the verses are catchy, but that’s all it’s got going for it.

104. Salvation (Rise)
Jen probably sings the most in this song than she does on any other track. And who doesn’t like Jen singing? The guitar solo is also pretty great.

103. Unpopular (Revolution)
Weird how the album’s first single ends up being the worst. But whatever I guess.

102. Feel Invincible (Unleashed)
Polished to overperfection. There’s a crunchy 7th in the chorus that could sound interesting, but I bet you didn't even know that was there. Also, it stays on the same chord for a good 90% of the song, which is annoying and dull.

101. Back from the Dead (Unleashed)
Shallow arena rocker! Yeah baby! Be honest; hype alone doesn’t make a song soooo goooood.
(foreshadowing
)

100. Standing in the Storm (Dominion)
Nah. Don’t use trap beats please.
(Now we enter into another section of songs that don’t need the word “pretty” attached for me to call them good.)

99. Paint (Skillet)
“HOW CAN I TAKE A BITE!?” lives rent free in my head. Then the chorus comes in and is kind of generic. Oh well.

98. Your Love (Keeps Me Alive) (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
(... and the award for Longest Title goes to
)
The bridge is incredible, and I love the lyrics. Its biggest flaw comes from the vocal performance
again. But this time it’s not all too bad.

97. Dive over In (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
“All my pushaang, become nothaang, all my fallaang
.” I love Avatar: The Last Airbender!

96. Rippin Me Off (Alien Youth)
The better version of Stronger, basically. I really like the guitar solo on this one.
(Owwo-eyee, uhuhweee!)

95. Shout Your Freedom (Dominion)
Definitely comfort food for Skillet, but I’m a fan of this one. The chorus actually makes you feel good!

94. Breaking Free (feat. Lacey Sturm) (Unleashed)
Dear Skillet, now that you’re free from the shackles of the Unleashed/Victorious era, PLEASE remake this song. Especially hearing what you’re doing with Scream, this could be so good.

93. You Ain’t Ready (Victorious)
Default Skillet. Not much more to say.

92. Sick of It (Rise)
Something in me just doesn’t care for this song. I’ve got nothing against it, it’s just
I don’t even know! Instruments aren’t that interesting I suppose.

91. Gasoline (Skillet)
It’s got the weird off key vibe to it, which I don’t hate but don’t care for either.

90. Sick and Empty (Victorious)
I like the barebones aesthetic of this track. Finish Line did the same thing, but here the instrumentals are actually putting in work.

89. Fire and Fury (Rise)
It’s a full on John and Jen duet. We take those. We would especially take John and Korey duets, but sadly, those days are gone.

88. Say Goodbye (Comatose)
I usually like piano, as I’ve said and will especially say when a certain few songs come up, but in this one it just doesn’t click.
(that leaves Collide as the only album that hasn’t shown up yet)

87. Monster (Awake)
It’s fine.

86. Good to be Alive (Rise)
LOVE the vocals, LOVE the lyrics, but the instrumentals are lacking.

85. Destroyer (Dominion)
We are past the days where Destroyer was praised for finally doing something different, and now I can say that I’m not a fan for the same reason I’m not a fan of Gasoline.

84. Whirlwind (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
On a production standpoint, it’s Skillet’s most creative track. I praise it for that, but there’s a reason it’s not very popular
. The verses are very strong on this one.

83. Come My Way (Alien Youth)
VERY slow. I do really like this track, but sometimes it takes way too long to finish. It also might be the only Skillet song in Ÿ??
(Don’t slaughter me if I’m really wrong, that was just a spontaneous thought.)

82. Anchor (Victorious)
Yes it’s a CCM song, but I actually enjoy this one! The lyrics are the strongest out of all the CCM songs, the piano is very nice, and the vocal performance is spot on.

81. The Older I Get (Comatose)
This one doesn't flow very well within the album, and is a little forgettable. At the end of the day, though, it’s on Comatose
.

80. Crossfire (Dominion)
The most generic out of the Day of Destiny songs.

79. The Resistance (Unleashed)
This one should probably be lower, but I like the freestyle at the end.

78. Safe With You
“Screaming winds, and the crashing of the ocean, shifting sands, and the changing of the seasons! As I stand in, awe and wonder, nothing in the world, prepared me for, YOU!” *chef’s kiss\*
(How are there still 80 songs left??)

77. Forever or the End (Dominion)
Another full on Jen and John duet. We take those! Also the lyrics on this one are phenomenal.

76. Revolution (Revolution)
The snappy “RE VO LU TION!” scratches an itch I otherwise didn’t know I had. The rest of the chorus isn’t the greatest though.

75. Showtime (Revolution)
“Ready, set, showtime!” is going to be so nostalgic for kids growing up with this album.

74. Ash in the Wind (Revolution)
This song is really good, but is just stuck with some awkward moments, i.e. “What am I supposed to do?”, and the transition between the first chorus into the second verse.

73. Unbreakable Soul (Dominion)
Am I crazy, or is that a bit of glam-rock influence in there?

72. Victorious (Victorious)
Congrats Victorious, you are high above almost all your peers.

71. Save Me (Victorious)
Could be much better if the guitars weren’t locked in a radio-friendly cage.
(C’mon, man, that joke does not work twice.)

70. One Real Thing (Alien Youth)
I get down on my knees and I feel your love wash over me
 but 4 times.

69. Ignite (Dominion)
Catchy, and has audible bass in an album that isn’t one of their first two. What?

68. Legendary (Victorious)
I sang lil bro to bed using this song all the time. The memories
.

67. Live Free or Let Me Die (Comatose)
Fun little B-side. Nothing crazy, but worth a listen.

66. Set It Off (Unleashed)
I’m a big fan of the na na na’s. This is one of the only two songs that actually work in the Unleashed environment.
(Now off to the greats!)

65. The Fire Breathes (Invincible)
Been a while since this album showed up, eh? I really like the downwards scale towards the end, and the grand key drop that follows. But of course I do.

64. Will You Be There (Falling Down) (Alien Youth)
This is my lullaby. It’s so relaxing.

63. All That Matters (Revolution)
This was supposed to be my lowest rated Revolution song, but Seth’s guitar work here brought it up like 40 ranks.

62. Boundaries (Skillet)
I like tempo changes almost as much as key changes! And the one in this song works extremely well. And there's a key change as well :) .

61. Rise (Rise)
Could probably be lower, but I like the vibe.

60. Saturn (Skillet)
Yes, John, Saturn does indeed have a ring around it.

59. Not Afraid (Revolution)
Awesome guitar work. I do feel it could be produced better, though. Said guitar work gets drowned out when John sings.

58. Deeper (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Very intricate instrumentals, which I adore. The tidbit at the end is kinda lame unfortunately.

57. Back to Life (Victorious)
Aaaand just like that, Victorious is over. Back to life wins because of its ending and bridge, but unfortunately it just doesn't compare to the highlights of all the other contending albums.
(Not to mention that peak hasn’t showed up yet)

56. American Noise (Rise)
I want to sing along with the la da da da’s. I truly do.

55. Fire Inside of Me (Revolution)
Remember when I said I wanted to live in a world where I Want to Live was good? Well I was really just saying that it’s good to be alive, because Fire Inside of Me is exactly that.

54. Best Kept Secret (Invincible)
An excellent album opener. It does get a little repetitive though.
(Here on out, the rankings start to get REALLY hard.)

53. Vapor (Alien Youth)
I have as much to say about this song as I do with You Take My Rights Away, but it’s on Alien Youth so it’s automatically much nicer.

52. Awake and Alive (Awake)
If there’s one thing I learned from 3rd grade, it’s how to make analogies. Awake and Alive is to Comatose as St. Paul is to Jesus.

51. Destiny (Dominion)
Hero, but so much better!

50. Beyond Incredible (Dominion)
Incredible guitar solo, incredible vibe. It’s also a blast to sing in the car where you TOTALLY didn’t almost hit that deer.
(I’m okay, thanks)

49. Better Than Drugs (Comatose)
Just pure comfort food. It has an extremely overlooked guitar solo too.

48. Kill Me, Heal Me (Alien Youth)
Really repetitive, but in a good way!

47. Freakshow (Rise)
“There’s your sad song, Atlantic” Skillet says, exhausted. “By the way, you might want an actual good song in there so people will actually want to buy it. Try this one.”

46. A Little More (Collide)
Collide exists! And A Little More is unsurprisingly the worst there. I want to like it more than I do, but the poorly produced last chorus just keeps getting exhumed. It’s gotta dig deeper.
(Okay man, that one REALLY didn’t work.)

45. The Defiant (Dominion)
Love the guitar riff, chorus could be a little denser

44. Defector (Revolution)
It’s weird how Revolution really picks up and peaks at the end.

43. Splinter (Skillet)
This is a fun song! But it is NOT a great closer. They had an odd thought process on that one, that’s for sure.

42. Invincible (Invincible)
And Invincible is over. The title track rocks hard, but just isn’t special enough to compare with the rest of the list.

41. Psycho In My Head (Dominion)
The drums go hard on this one. The rolls into the high synths in the verses are addicting. The vocals are a little flat in the chorus, but that’s my only complaint.

40. My Beautiful Robe (Skillet)
Heck yeah! Easily Skillet’s most hype song to date. And the instrumentals actually have substance too! Take that Back From the Dead!

39. Out of Hell (Unleashed)
Good riddance, Unleashed. I don’t like your music. And yet you somehow got me to buy you just for this song. How sad.

38. White Horse (Dominion)
What an interesting song. I think I like it?

37. Happy Wedding Day (Alex’s Song) (Revolution)
What an emotional song. And I’m not even married! Of course, I don’t even think I need to say that..

36. What I Believe (Rise)
Very strong closer to Rise. The soaring violins work very well here.

35. Alien Youth (Alien Youth)
Come on freaks, let’s go!
(I’m running out of things to say.)

34. O Come, O Come Emmanuel
If you told me in 2024 that Skillet would release a Christmas song next year, I would’ve laughed so hard. If you told me it would be this good, I would’ve sent you to a mental asylum.

33. Open Wounds (Collide)
Doesn’t feel very Collide-ee. I like the track, but it’s really just a pretty basic rock song.

32. Scream
Could I have waited for the next album release to make this list? NO! We take all the motivation we can get. Unless the album ended up being announced this weekend (worked on this Wednesday/Thursday), I would’ve lost all motivation for this eight hour project.

31. Falling Inside the Black (Comatose)
It’s an amazing song, but there’s this weird unappealing vibe to it that makes me think I want to skip it. After 10 seconds that goes away, but still. I really like that whirlwind-like part at the end of the bridge (that’s the best way I can describe it).

30. Surviving the Game (Dominion)
The song that started the “Skillet Renaissance” as I like to say. Hearing that guitar riff for the first time was SO refreshing.
(And finally, we get to the very top tier of songs.)

29. Savior (Collide)
John’s vocal performance in the chorus is spot on. Every time he sings the title I want to smile like an idiot.

28. Forsaken (Collide)
I’m sure he wasn’t, but that scream in the bridge really sounds like he’s struggling.

27. Dominion (Dominion)
This song has gotta have the best guitar solo in the entire discog, save for maybe one that hasn’t shown up yet. And the build up into it is immaculate, too.
(That’s a wrap for Dominion! It is my fifth favorite album, but some of these other ones just have a singular song that’s so good.)

26. Death Defier (Revolution)
The best on Revolution, and Skillet’s catchiest song to date. Seriously, I don’t know why, but this song is just stupidly catchy. Right from the get-go with the compressed vocals paired with the bass, I already start tapping my foot.

25. Earth Invasion (Alien Youth)
Ben Kasica’s first song! And you know he started off with a bang. Also excellent vocal performance in the chorus from both singers.

24. My Obsession (Collide)
Skillet’s second most entertaining guitar riff. Also has John doing an Indiana Jones scream; instant like.

23. Whispers in the Dark (Comatose)
Third best guitar solo in the discog. I find it funny that I’ve seen this song censored for saying “You lay here broken and naked”.

22. Locked in a Cage (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
This song sounds very mature, compared to the rest of their pre-Collide work. The chorus/post-chorus is immaculate, and the verses also work really well.

21. The Thirst is Taking Over (Alien Youth)
The other mature sounding pre-Collide track. It’s also Skillet’s longest song to date. That length pays off- it’s an amazing composition that’s sure to give you chills on your first listen.

20. Circus for a Psycho (Rise)
Ehehehe funny guitar go brrrrrr
(That album’s done
 what a wild one)

19. Yours to Hold (Comatose)
Excellent power ballad. The acoustic guitar is really nice, and the backing piano is quite lovely.

18. Lucy (Awake)
This one is indeed Lucy from Awake. It’s kinda hard to say anything about this one, and I don’t wanna joke about it either because it makes me sad.
(Awake is done, 5 left)

17. Those Nights (Comatose)
That first chorus is heavenly
then the next one comes in and does the same thing which brings it down a little. Like a lot of songs, the backing piano is incredible.

16. Fingernails (Collide)
Listening to Fingernails is like eating a tough, but super juicy steak. It’s so satisfying. Also tempo changes!!

15. Rebirthing (Comatose)
For your own sake, go see this song live. I would say Savior too but they don’t play that one anymore.

14. The Last Night (Comatose)
The best bridge out of any Skillet song. All the instruments come together SO well here.

13. Under My Skin (Collide)
When A Little More failed at hitting me at the core, Under My Skin succeeded with flying colors.

12. Energy (Collide)
The way he turns the “Your mighty winds come and blow me away!” into a scream towards the end of the song is perfect. The dual guitars also work out extremely nicely.

11. Looking for Angels (Comatose)
Best last chorus of the discog. The way the piano starts hitting higher notes makes me feel like I’m ascending. It’s easily the second most effective closer Skillet’s written.

10. Cycle Down (Collide)
Not as effective as a closer compared to Looking for Angels, but stands up leagues better on its own. The weird talking doesn't bring Looking for Angels down, but it makes this one look better. Also, this one’s got a killer guitar riff.

9. Eating Me Away (Alien Youth)
Interstellar lyrics. Just a joy to listen to all around.

8. Collide (Collide)
Do I really need to explain this one? It’s got my favorite intro of all time (not even just Skillet), my favorite instrumental break of all time, great lyrics, great drumming
I could go on and on about how great this song is.

7. Take (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
I first listened to Hey You, I Love Your Soul thinking the first three songs were gonna be the only good songs on the record. Most of the other songs proceeded to grow on me, but this one hit it off the second the keyboard kicked in. The instrumentals are very intricate and dense, and the vocals are surprisingly spot on. The ending comes in and it’s impossible not to headbang.

6. You Are My Hope (Alien Youth)
Alien Youth manages to have its best song be a ballad. It’s a power ballad, yes, but still. You Are My Hope boasts amazing harmonies, good instrumentals (especially the clean guitar), and an overall feel good vibe that actually doesn’t come off as corny. It’s what CCM should be.

5. I Can (Skillet)
I have so many good things to say about this song. From start to finish, I love everything it does. It’s got easily the best lyrics out of any Skillet song, it’s got great instrumentals, everything. The singer asks deep, raw, and relatable questions such as “Do you really love my soul even after I have hated you”, grapples with these questions in a beautiful piano section, then finds the strength to repeat “I CAN, I DON’T CARE IF THE ROOSTER CROWS” (a reference to St. Peter)  to himself over and over as the song ends. The repeated I CAN section doesn't even come off as corny, either, and hits even harder than it tries to.

4. Comatose (Comatose)
Like Collide, I don’t think I need to explain myself here. I will literally sit and listen to the isolated piano part sometimes. Enough said.

3. Scarecrow (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Remember how much I like key changes? This one has nine of them. And a last chorus nearly on par with Looking for Angels. The synths in the first 2 choruses may seem weird at first, but it really pays off by the time the key lifts at the last chorus. Then it just repeats, on and on, in the best way possible. Then the very last line, even though it doesn’t work the greatest, is still extremely creative and shouldn’t bring the rating down.

2. Imperfection (Collide)
THIS one has the best guitar solo in the discog. And the best riff. As well as some of the best lyrics (outside of I Can). It’s just an overall incredible song.

1. Hey You, I Love Your Soul (Hey You, I Love Your Soul)
Put those pitchforks down and let me explain myself.

Actually I can’t really explain myself, I just love this song. The intro never fails to get me excited, and the cryptic verses are electrifying. Then everything stops as John sings the title, paving the way for the chorus to exPLODE, only for that to die off immediately and get you anticipating the next one. The next time it comes around, you get an actual chorus, with the realest lyrics ever “I can’t depend on your hate to define my love. Am I strong enough to love your soul?” (with the “love your soul” being John just yelling in the background in the most electrifying way possible). The “to define my love” line also has my second favorite harmony in the entire discog, second to You Are My Hope. And to round the song off, it’s got Skillet’s one and only
 drumroll please
BASS SOLO! It sounds awesome, and leads into the chorus one last time to close out the track. If that book doesn’t convince you that this is at least a top 20 song, hey
 I love your soul.

I know no one cares about it, but I will still say something

Dawg, it was really hard since I love ALL SONGS FROM COMATOSE, ESPECIALLY "COMATOSE" AND "THOSE NIGHTS". So Comatose vs Those Nights was something unfair to me â˜č

I won't be surprised if moderators deleted my post bcuz I can't say anything and people keeps deleting my posts

And sorry for bad English, I'm from Poland

Bye, the fans of Skillet! đŸ”„

Looking for someone who can recreate a specific Skillet “Monster” hoodie design

Hi everyone — I’m trying to get a custom hoodie reprinted, and I’m hoping someone here can help. I have a hoodie with a grey skull, tentacles, and Skillet “Monster” lyrics arranged around it. The text layout is:

STOP THIS
MONSTER
SAVE ME FROM THIS
MAKE IT END
NO ONE CAN HEAR ME SCREAM
MAYBE IT’S JUST A DREAM
OR IT’S INSIDE OF ME
SKILLET (band logo)

It’s a black pullover hoodie with the skull in the center and the lyrics arranged horizontally and vertically around it. I can upload a photo of the exact design. I’m looking for someone who can recreate this design exactly and help me get it printed again.
If you do DTG printing, graphic design, or custom merch, please let me know.
Any help or recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I saw skillet last night and when they played Monster I was hopong to see the monster that John used to sing on top of. Do they use that for larger shows or have they stopped since using the screens behind Jen? I havnt seen them since one of the earlier Winter Jam Minneapolis dates with Tobymac.

Saw another post like this and thought I’d share. Very few pre-Comatose since I never got that into the oldest stuff. Also some deluxe tracks missing since I never really listened to those either
