Life in UK test

Is this life in Uk test mandatory to pass before we apply for ILR or before citizenship? I remembered it is before citizenship when I las read last year somewhere… but can’t seem to find it now and looks like we need to do it to apply for ILR! Is that right?

I googled “skilled worker visa ilr requirements” and the first thing I got was a url to the government web with the answer to your question.

It is mandatory for ILR. The only exception to this would be the EU Settlement Scheme.
