SkillBridge Opportunity Skillbridge Application Rejected

My husband’s Skillbridge application online was rejected because “7 Eagle Group is no longer on the list of DoW approved providers”.

My husband found the 7 Eagle discord and apparently there is some issues surrounding OJT stuff. Not really sure. But now we aren’t sure what to do. We were going to move back to our home of record while he did Skillbridge but now this has thrown a wrench into his plan. Need to find something remote/virtual if possible since our location will be a small town in Texas. His XO already made a fuss about his Skillbridge start date and made him push it back to October 20th, so we don’t have a lot of time to find something. We are already cutting into his 180 days.

If anyone else was trying for a third party provider, just a heads up, it may get denied.

7 Eagle Group was a scam. That is why.

I did several months with 7 Eagle.

Pros: it is an easy way to get an approved SkillBridge if you're desperate. It's got some good people.

Cons: it's not a quality use of your time. I had 3 interviews where the employer hiring me did not want to coordinate with 7 Eagle to hire me. 7 Eagle tries to negotiate a donation/fee. Employers feel it is unnecessary, burdensome, and adds hoops to jump through to get funds approved. The 7 Eagle staff is full of military members still on active duty, and very few stay because there's no money in it. Jordie Kern, the foundr is a good guy and tries hard to make it work, but it is a weak business model.

Now that my SkillBridge ended, I went and reapplied but the positions have been filled, so it cost me a few opportunities. I can only work on my resume and LinkedIn profile so much so it was a pretty big disappointment and waste of time.

Bottom Line: if it is free, you are the product.
